God Is Our Refuge and Strength

1God is for us a refuge and strength, a help in troubles, very readily found.

2Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way and though the mountains totter into the heart of the seas,

3though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains quake at its swelling. Selah.

4A river—its streams gladden the city of God, the holy dwelling place of the Most High.

5God is in her midst; she will not totter. God will help her at the turning of the morning.

6Nations roared, kingdoms tottered; he lifted up his voice, the earth melts.

7Yahweh of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is a fortress for us. Selah.

8Come, behold the works of Yahweh, who has made desolations in the earth.

9making wars cease to the end of the earth; he breaks the bow and cuts the spear in pieces; he burns the carts with fire.

10Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.

11Yahweh of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is a fortress for us. Selah.
