Micah 4

The AIT Bible

The Mountain of Yahweh's House

1And it will come to pass in the latter days that the mountain of the house of Yahweh will be established as the head of the mountains, and it will be lifted up above the hills, and peoples will stream to it.

2And many nations will go and say, “Come, let us go up to the mountain of Yahweh, and to the house of the God of Jacob, that he may teach us from his ways, and that we may walk in his paths.” For from Zion goes forth instruction, and the word of Yahweh from Jerusalem.

3And he will judge between many peoples and render decisions for strong nations far away; and they will beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation will not lift up sword against nation, and they will no longer learn war.

4And they will sit, each under his vine and under his fig tree, with none to make them afraid; for the mouth of Yahweh of hosts has spoken.

5For all the peoples walk, each in the name of his god, but we will walk in the name of Yahweh our God forever and ever.

The Lame and Exiled Restored

6On that day, declares Yahweh, I will gather the lame, and I will assemble those driven away, and those whom I have harmed.

7And I will make the lame into a remnant, and those cast off into a strong nation; and Yahweh will reign over them on Mount Zion from now and forever.

8And you, O tower of the flock, hill of the daughter of Zion, to you it will come—the former dominion will come, the kingship of the daughter of Jerusalem.

Zion's Anguish and Deliverance

9Now why do you cry out a loud cry? Is there no king among you? Has your counselor perished, that anguish has gripped you like a woman in labor?

10Writhe and burst forth, O daughter of Zion, like a woman in labor; for now you will go out from the city and dwell in the open field. You will go to Babylon; there you will be delivered, there Yahweh will redeem you from the hand of your enemies.

11And now many nations have gathered against you, saying, “Let her be defiled, and let our eyes gaze on Zion.”

12But they do not know the thoughts of Yahweh, and they do not understand his counsel; for he has gathered them like sheaves to the threshing floor.

13Arise and thresh, O daughter of Zion, for I will make your horn iron, and I will make your hooves bronze, and you will crush many peoples; and I will devote their unjust gain to Yahweh, and their wealth to the Lord of all the earth.
