And I said: Hear now, you heads of Jacob, you rulers of the house of Israel! Is it not for you to know justice—
you who hate good and love evil, who tear the skin from off my people and their flesh from off their bones;
who have eaten the flesh of my people, and flayed their skin from off them, and broken their bones in pieces, and spread them out as in a pot, and like flesh inside a cauldron.
Then they will cry out to Yahweh, but he will not answer them; he will hide his face from them at that time, because they made their deeds evil.
Thus says Yahweh concerning the prophets who lead my people astray, who bite with their teeth and cry “Peace!”—but whoever puts nothing into their mouths, against him they consecrate war:
Therefore night will be yours, without vision, and darkness for you, without divination; the sun will set upon the prophets, and the day will go black over them.
And the seers will be ashamed, and the diviners disgraced; they will all cover their mustache, for there is no answer from God.
But as for me, I am filled with power—with the Spirit of Yahweh—and with justice and might, to declare to Jacob his transgression and to Israel his sin.
Hear this now, you heads of the house of Jacob and rulers of the house of Israel, who abhor justice and twist all that is straight,
building Zion with bloodshed and Jerusalem with injustice.
Her heads judge for a bribe, her priests teach for a price, and her prophets divine for silver; yet they lean upon Yahweh, saying, “Is not Yahweh in our midst? No disaster will come upon us.”
Therefore because of you Zion will be plowed as a field, Jerusalem will become heaps of rubble, and the temple mount a wooded height.
