The Transgression of the Wicked

1An oracle of transgression to the wicked one is within my heart: there is no dread of God before his eyes.

2For he flatters himself in his own eyes, so as to find his iniquity out and hate it.

3The words of his mouth are iniquity and deceit; he has ceased to act wisely, to do good.

4He plots iniquity upon his bed; he takes his stand on a way that is not good; evil he does not reject.

5Yahweh, your loyal love reaches to the heavens, your faithfulness to the clouds.

6Your righteousness is like the mountains of God, your judgments a great deep; man and beast you save, Yahweh.

7How precious is your loyal love, O God! And the children of mankind take refuge in the shadow of your wings.

8They feast on the abundance of your house, and from the river of your delights you give them drink.

9For with you is the fountain of life; in your light we see light.

10Prolong your loyal love to those who know you, and your righteousness to the upright of heart.

11Let not the foot of pride come upon me, and let not the hand of the wicked drive me away.

12There the doers of iniquity have fallen; they are thrust down and are not able to rise.
