Psalms 63

0A psalm of David, when he was in the wilderness of Judah.

My Soul Thirsts for God

1God, you are my God; I seek you earnestly. My throat thirsts for you, my flesh longs for you, in a dry and weary land without water.

2So in the sanctuary I have gazed upon you, to see your strength and your glory.

3Because your loyal love is better than life, my lips will praise you.

4So I will bless you as long as I live; in your name I will lift up my hands.

5As with fat and rich food my self is satisfied, and with joyful lips my mouth praises you.

6When I remember you upon my bed, through the night watches I meditate on you.

7For you have been my help, and in the shadow of your wings I sing for joy.

8My self clings after you; your right hand upholds me.

9But they who seek my life, to their own ruin, will go down into the depths of the earth.

10They will pour him out by the hands of the sword; they will become a portion for jackals.

11But the king will rejoice in God; everyone who swears by him will boast, for the mouth of those who speak lies will be stopped.
