Psalms 91

The AIT Bible

Dwelling in the Shelter of the Most High

The one who dwells in the shelter of the Most High, who lodges in the shadow of the Almighty,

I say of Yahweh, ‘My refuge and my fortress, my God in whom I trust.’

For he himself will deliver you from the snare of the fowler, from the deadly pestilence.

With his pinion he will cover you, and under his wings you will take refuge; his faithfulness is a shield and a buckler.

You will not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day,

nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the destruction that lays waste at noon.

A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you.

You will only look with your eyes and see the recompense of the wicked.

Because you, Yahweh, are my refuge — you have made the Most High your dwelling place —

no evil will befall you, and no plague will come near your tent.

For he will command his angels concerning you, to guard you in all your ways.

On their hands they will lift you up, lest you strike your foot against a stone.

You will tread upon the lion and the cobra; you will trample the young lion and the serpent.

Yahweh's Promise of Deliverance

Because he has clung to me in love, I will deliver him; I will set him on high, because he knows my name.

He will call out to me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will rescue him and honor him.

With length of days I will satisfy him, and I will show him my salvation.
