1A psalm of David. Yahweh, hear my prayer; give ear to my pleas for mercy. In your faithfulness answer me, in your righteousness.
2And do not enter into judgment with your servant, for no one living is righteous before you.
3For an enemy has pursued my soul; he has crushed my life to the ground; he has made me dwell in dark places, like those long dead.
4And my spirit grows faint within me; my heart within me is appalled.
5I remember the days of old; I meditate on all your work; I muse on the deeds of your hands.
6I spread out my hands to you; my life thirsts for you like a weary land. Selah.
7Answer me quickly, Yahweh; my spirit fails. Do not hide your face from me, or I will be like those who go down to the pit.
8Let me hear of your loyal love in the morning, for in you I have trusted. Make known to me the way I should walk, for to you I have lifted up my life.
9Deliver me from my enemies, Yahweh; in you I take refuge.
10Teach me to do your will, for you are my God. May your good Spirit lead me on level ground.
11For your name’s sake, Yahweh, preserve my life; in your righteousness bring my life out of trouble.
12And in your loyal love silence my enemies, and destroy all the adversaries of my life, for I am your servant.
