1In Judah God is known; in Israel his name is great.
2His covert has come to be in Salem, and his dwelling place in Zion.
3There he shattered the flashing arrows of the bow, the shield and the sword and the battle. Selah.
4Radiant are you, majestic, from the mountains of prey.
5The stouthearted were despoiled; they slept their sleep, and none of the men of valor found their hands.
6At your rebuke, God of Jacob, both chariot and horse lay stunned.
7You—you are to be feared. And who can stand before you once your anger is roused?
8From heaven you made judgment heard; the earth feared and grew still,
9when God rose up to judgment, to save all the humble of the earth. Selah.
10For the wrath of humankind shall praise you; with the remnant of wrath you gird yourself.
11Make vows to Yahweh your God and fulfill them; let all around him bring tribute to the one to be feared,
12who cuts off the spirit of princes, who is feared by the kings of the earth.
