Psalms 20

The AIT Bible

0For the director. A psalm of David.

A Prayer for the King's Victory

1May Yahweh answer you in the day of trouble; may the name of the God of Jacob set you on high.

2May he send your help from the sanctuary, and from Zion may he sustain you.

3May he remember all your grain offerings, and may he regard your burnt offering as rich. Selah.

4May he give you according to your heart, and may he fulfill all your counsel.

5We will shout for joy at your salvation, and in the name of our God we will raise our banners; may Yahweh fulfill all your requests.

6Now I know that Yahweh saves his anointed; he answers him from his holy heavens with the mighty deeds of the salvation of his right hand.

7These with chariots, and these with horses, but we — in the name of Yahweh our God we make our boast.

8They have collapsed and fallen, but we have risen and stand firm.

9Yahweh, save! May the King answer us on the day we call.
