Of David. Yahweh is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? Yahweh is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
When evildoers drew near against me to devour my flesh—my adversaries and my enemies—they themselves stumbled and fell.
Though an army encamp against me, my heart will not fear; though war rise up against me, even then I remain trusting.
One thing I have asked from Yahweh, that will I seek: to dwell in the house of Yahweh all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of Yahweh and to inquire in his temple.
For he will hide me in his shelter in the day of trouble; he will conceal me in the hiding place of his tent; he will lift me high upon a rock.
And now my head is lifted high above my enemies around me, and I will sacrifice in his tent sacrifices of a shout of joy; I will sing and make music to Yahweh.
Seek My Face
Hear, Yahweh, my voice when I call out; be gracious to me and answer me.
To you my heart has said, “Seek my face.” Your face, Yahweh, I will seek.
Do not hide your face from me; do not turn your servant away in anger. You have been my help; do not cast me off and do not forsake me, God of my salvation.
For my father and my mother have forsaken me, but Yahweh will gather me up.
Teach me your way, Yahweh, and lead me on a level path because of those who lie in wait for me.
Do not give me over to the throat of my adversaries, for false witnesses have risen up against me, and one who breathes out violence.
Unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of Yahweh in the land of the living—!
Wait for Yahweh; be strong, and let your heart take courage; and wait for Yahweh.
