Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of Yahweh has risen upon you.
For behold, darkness covers the earth, and thick darkness the peoples; but upon you Yahweh will rise, and his glory will be seen over you.
And nations will walk to your light, and kings to the brightness of your dawning.
Lift up your eyes all around and see: they all gather together, they come to you; your sons come from far away, and your daughters are carried on the hip.
Then you will see and be radiant, and your heart will throb and swell, for the abundance of the sea will be turned over to you, the wealth of the nations will come to you.
A multitude of camels will cover you, the young camels of Midian and Ephah; all of them will come from Sheba; they will carry gold and frankincense, and they will proclaim the praises of Yahweh.
All the flocks of Kedar will be gathered to you, the rams of Nebaioth will serve you; they will go up with favor upon my altar, and I will beautify my glorious house.
Who are these that fly like a cloud, and like doves to their windows?
For the coastlands will wait for me, and the ships of Tarshish first, to bring your sons from far away, their silver and their gold with them, for the name of Yahweh your God and for the Holy One of Israel, because he has glorified you.
And foreigners will build your walls, and their kings will serve you; for in my wrath I struck you, but in my favor I have had compassion on you.
And your gates will be open continually; day and night they will not be shut, to bring to you the wealth of the nations, with their kings led in procession.
For the nation and the kingdom that will not serve you will perish, and the nations will be utterly laid waste.
The glory of Lebanon will come to you, the cypress, the plane, and the pine together, to beautify the place of my sanctuary; and I will glorify the place of my feet.
And the sons of those who afflicted you will come to you bowed down, and all who despised you will bow themselves down at the soles of your feet; and they will call you the City of Yahweh, the Zion of the Holy One of Israel.
Instead of your being forsaken and hated, with no one passing through, I will make you an everlasting pride, a joy from generation to generation.
And you will suck the milk of nations, and you will nurse at the breast of kings; and you will know that I, Yahweh, am your Savior, and your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.
Instead of the bronze I will bring gold, and instead of the iron I will bring silver, and instead of the wood, bronze, and instead of the stones, iron; and I will make peace your overseer and righteousness your taskmaster.
Violence will no longer be heard in your land, nor devastation and destruction within your borders; but you will call your walls Salvation and your gates Praise.
The sun will no longer be your light by day, nor will the moon shine on you for brightness; but Yahweh will be your everlasting light, and your God your glory.
Your sun will no longer go down, nor will your moon withdraw; for Yahweh will be your everlasting light, and the days of your mourning will be ended.
And your people will all be righteous; they will possess the land forever — the shoot of my planting, the work of my hands, that I may be glorified.
The smallest will become a thousand, and the least a mighty nation. I am Yahweh; in its time I will hasten it.
