And you, bring near to yourself Aaron your brother, and his sons with him, from among the sons of Israel, to serve me as priest — Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar, the sons of Aaron.
And you shall make holy garments for Aaron your brother, for glory and for splendor.
And you shall speak to all the wise of heart, whom I have filled with a spirit of wisdom, and they shall make Aaron’s garments to consecrate him, to serve me as priest.
And these are the garments that they shall make: a breastpiece and an ephod and a robe and a checkered tunic, a turban and a sash. They shall make holy garments for Aaron your brother and for his sons, to serve me as priest.
And they shall take the gold, and the blue, and the purple, and the scarlet of worm, and the fine linen.
And they shall make the ephod of gold, blue, and purple, crimson yarn, and finely twined linen, the work of a skilled designer.
It shall have two joined shoulder pieces at its two edges, and it shall be joined together.
And the skillfully woven band of its ephod, which is upon it, shall be of the same work, from it: gold, blue, and purple, and scarlet, and finely twined linen.
And you shall take two onyx stones and engrave on them the names of the sons of Israel:
six of their names on the one stone, and the names of the six remaining on the second stone, according to their birth order.
With the work of a stone engraver, like the engravings of a seal, you shall engrave the two stones with the names of the sons of Israel; you shall make them enclosed in settings of gold.
And you shall set the two stones on the shoulder pieces of the ephod as stones of remembrance for the sons of Israel; and Aaron shall carry their names before Yahweh on his two shoulders for a remembrance.
And you shall make settings of gold,
and two chains of pure gold; you shall make them of twisted work, like cords, and you shall attach the corded chains to the settings.
And you shall make a breastpiece of judgment, the work of a skilled designer; like the work of the ephod you shall make it: of gold, blue, and purple, and scarlet of worm, and finely twined linen you shall make it.
It shall be square, doubled — a span its length and a span its width.
And you shall fill it with settings of stones, four rows of stones: a row of ruby, topaz, and emerald — the first row;
and the second row: turquoise, sapphire, and diamond;
and the third row: jacinth, agate, and amethyst;
and the fourth row: beryl, onyx, and jasper. They shall be enclosed in gold in their settings.
And the stones shall be according to the names of the sons of Israel, twelve according to their names; engraved like a seal, each with its name, they shall be for the twelve tribes.
And you shall make on the breastpiece chains of twisted work, like cords, of pure gold.
And you shall make on the breastpiece two rings of gold, and you shall put the two rings on the two ends of the breastpiece.
And you shall put the two gold cords on the two rings at the ends of the breastpiece.
And the two ends of the two cords you shall put on the two settings, and you shall attach them to the shoulder pieces of the ephod on its front.
And you shall make two rings of gold, and you shall set them on the two ends of the breastpiece, on its edge which is on the inner side of the ephod.
And you shall make two rings of gold, and you shall put them on the two shoulder pieces of the ephod, below, on its front, close to its seam, above the skillfully woven band of the ephod.
And they shall bind the breastpiece by its rings to the rings of the ephod with a cord of blue, so that it may be upon the skillfully woven band of the ephod, and the breastpiece shall not come loose from the ephod.
And Aaron shall carry the names of the sons of Israel in the breastpiece of judgment upon his heart when he enters the holy place, as a remembrance before Yahweh continually.
And you shall put into the breastpiece of judgment the Urim and the Thummim, and they shall be upon Aaron’s heart when he comes before Yahweh; and Aaron shall carry the judgment of the sons of Israel upon his heart before Yahweh continually.
You shall make the robe of the ephod entirely of blue.
There shall be an opening for the head in the middle of it; around its opening there shall be a woven border, like the opening of a coat of mail, so that it will not be torn.
On its hem you shall make pomegranates of blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, around its hem, and bells of gold between them all around,
a gold bell and a pomegranate, a gold bell and a pomegranate, around the hem of the robe.
It shall be on Aaron to minister, and its sound shall be heard when he enters the holy place before Yahweh and when he goes out, so that he will not die.
You shall make a plate of pure gold and engrave on it, like the engravings of a seal, ‘Holy to Yahweh.’
You shall put it on a cord of blue, and it shall be on the turban; it shall be on the front of the turban.
It shall be on Aaron’s forehead, and Aaron shall bear the guilt of the holy things that the sons of Israel consecrate, for all their holy gifts; it shall be on his forehead continually, for their acceptance before Yahweh.
You shall weave the tunic in checkerwork of fine linen, and you shall make a turban of fine linen, and you shall make a sash, the work of an embroiderer.
For Aaron’s sons you shall make tunics, and you shall make sashes for them, and headbands you shall make for them, for glory and for beauty.
You shall clothe with them Aaron your brother and his sons with him, and you shall anoint them, ordain them, and consecrate them, so that they may serve me as priests.
Make for them linen undergarments to cover the flesh of their nakedness; they shall reach from the loins to the thighs.
They shall be on Aaron and on his sons when they enter the tent of meeting or when they draw near to the altar to minister in the holy place, so that they do not incur guilt and die. It shall be a perpetual statute for him and for his offspring after him.
