1Then I lifted up my eyes and looked, and behold, a man, and in his hand a measuring line.
2And I said, “Where are you going?” And he said to me, “To measure Jerusalem, to see how wide it is and how long.”
3And behold, the angel who was speaking with me was going out, and another angel was going out to meet him.
4And he said to him, “Run, speak to this young man, saying: ‘Jerusalem shall be inhabited as open villages, because of the multitude of people and cattle within her.’”
5“And I myself will be for her,” declares Yahweh, “a wall of fire all around, and I will be for glory in her midst.”
6“Ho! Ho! Flee from the land of the north,” declares Yahweh, “for I have spread you abroad like the four winds of the heavens,” declares Yahweh.
7Ho, Zion! Escape, you who dwell in daughter Babylon.
8For thus says Yahweh of hosts: “After glory he has sent me to the nations who plundered you — for whoever touches you touches the apple of his eye.
9For behold, I am waving my hand over them, and they shall become plunder for those who served them. Then you shall know that Yahweh of hosts has sent me.
10Sing and rejoice, daughter of Zion, for behold, I am coming, and I will dwell in your midst, declares Yahweh.
11And many nations shall join themselves to Yahweh on that day, and they shall become a people for me; and I will dwell in your midst, and you shall know that Yahweh of hosts has sent me to you.
12And Yahweh will take possession of Judah as his portion upon the holy land, and he will again choose Jerusalem.
13Be silent, all flesh, before Yahweh, for he has roused himself from his holy dwelling.
