1And the word of Yahweh of hosts came, saying:
2Thus says Yahweh of hosts: I am jealous for Zion with great jealousy, and with great wrath I am jealous for her.
3Thus says Yahweh: I have returned to Zion, and I will dwell in the midst of Jerusalem; and Jerusalem will be called the City of Truth, and the mountain of Yahweh of hosts, the Holy Mountain.
4Thus says Yahweh of hosts: Old men and old women will yet sit in the streets of Jerusalem, each with his staff in his hand because of great age.
5And the streets of the city will be filled with boys and girls playing in its streets.
6Thus says Yahweh of hosts: If it is too marvelous in the eyes of the remnant of this people in those days, should it also be too marvelous in my eyes? — declares Yahweh of hosts.
7Thus says Yahweh of hosts: Behold, I am about to save my people from the land of the east and from the land of the setting of the sun,
8and I will bring them, and they will dwell in the midst of Jerusalem; and they will be my people, and I myself will be their God, in truth and in righteousness.
9Thus says Yahweh of hosts: Let your hands be strong, you who hear in these days these words from the mouth of the prophets, who spoke on the day the foundation of the house of Yahweh of hosts was laid, the temple, to be rebuilt.
10For before those days there were no wages for man, nor were there wages for beast; and for the one going out and the one coming in there was no peace from the adversary, and I let loose all men, each against his neighbor.
11But now I will not be to the remnant of this people as in the former days — declares Yahweh of hosts.
12For there will be a sowing of peace: the vine will give its fruit, and the land will give its produce, and the heavens will give their dew; and I will cause the remnant of this people to inherit all these things.
13And it will be that just as you were a curse among the nations, house of Judah and house of Israel, so I will save you, and you will be a blessing. Do not fear; let your hands be strong.
14For thus says Yahweh of hosts: Just as I planned to bring disaster upon you when your fathers provoked me to wrath, says Yahweh of hosts, and I did not relent,
15so again I have planned in these days to do good to Jerusalem and to the house of Judah. Do not fear.
16These are the things that you shall do: Speak truth each with his neighbor; judge with truth and the judgment of peace in your gates.
17And let none of you devise in his heart the evil of his neighbor, and do not love a false oath; for all these are things that I hate — declares Yahweh.
18And the word of Yahweh of hosts came to me, saying:
19Thus says Yahweh of hosts: The fast of the fourth month, and the fast of the fifth, and the fast of the seventh, and the fast of the tenth will become for the house of Judah gladness and joy and good festivals; so love truth and peace.
20Thus says Yahweh of hosts: Peoples will yet come, and the inhabitants of many cities;
21and the inhabitants of one city will go to another, saying, ‘Let us surely go to entreat the favor of Yahweh and to seek Yahweh of hosts; I myself will go too.’
22And many peoples and mighty nations will come to seek Yahweh of hosts in Jerusalem and to entreat the favor of Yahweh.
23Thus says Yahweh of hosts: In those days ten men from all the languages of the nations will take hold, they will grasp the hem of the garment of a Jewish man, saying, ‘Let us go with you, for we have heard that God is with you.’
