1You shall not make for yourselves idols, and you shall not set up for yourselves a carved image or a sacred pillar, and you shall not place in your land a figured stone to bow down upon it; for I am Yahweh your God.
2You shall keep my sabbaths and revere my sanctuary; I am Yahweh.
3If you walk in my statutes and keep my commandments and do them,
4then I will give your rains in their season, and the land will give its produce, and the tree of the field will give its fruit.
5Your threshing will reach to the grape harvest, and the grape harvest will reach to the sowing; you will eat your bread to the full and dwell securely in your land.
6I will give peace in the land, and you will lie down with none to make you afraid; I will make dangerous beasts cease from the land, and no sword will pass through your land.
7You will pursue your enemies, and they will fall before you by the sword.
8Five of you will pursue a hundred, and a hundred of you will pursue ten thousand; and your enemies will fall before you by the sword.
9I will turn toward you and make you fruitful and multiply you, and I will establish my covenant with you.
10You will eat old store long kept, and you will clear out the old to make room for the new.
11I will set my dwelling in your midst, and my self will not abhor you.
12I will walk about in your midst and be God to you, and you will be a people to me.
13I am Yahweh your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt so that you would no longer be slaves to them; I broke the bars of your yoke and made you walk upright.
14But if you will not listen to me and will not do all these commandments,
15and if you reject my statutes, and if your self abhors my judgments so as not to do all my commandments, breaking my covenant,
16then I also will do this to you: I will bring upon you sudden terror—wasting disease and fever that consume the eyes and drain away life; and you will sow your seed in vain, for your enemies will eat it.
17I will set my face against you, and you will be struck down before your enemies; those who hate you will rule over you, and you will flee though no one pursues you.
18And if even after these things you will not listen to me, then I will discipline you seven times more for your sins.
19I will break the pride of your strength, and I will make your skies like iron and your land like bronze.
20Your strength will be spent in vain; your land will not give its produce, and the tree of the land will not give its fruit.
21And if you walk with me in hostility and are unwilling to listen to me, then I will bring on you sevenfold more blows, according to your sins.
22I will send against you the beasts of the field, and they will bereave you and cut off your livestock and reduce your numbers, and your roads will be desolate.
23And if by these you are not disciplined by me but walk with me in hostility,
24then I also will walk with you in hostility, and I myself will strike you sevenfold for your sins.
25I will bring upon you a sword that avenges the vengeance of the covenant; and when you gather into your cities, I will send pestilence into your midst, and you will be given into the hand of the enemy.
26When I break your staff of bread, ten women will bake your bread in one oven and give back your bread by weight; you will eat but not be satisfied.
27And if by this you will not listen to me but walk with me in hostility,
28then I will walk with you in the fury of hostility, and I myself will discipline you sevenfold for your sins.
29You will eat the flesh of your sons, and the flesh of your daughters you will eat.
30I will destroy your high places and cut down your incense altars, and I will place your corpses on the corpses of your idols, and my self will abhor you.
31And I will make your cities a ruin, and I will lay waste your sanctuaries, and I will not smell the pleasing aroma of your offerings.
32And I myself will lay the land waste, so that your enemies who settle in it will be appalled over it.
33And you I will scatter among the nations, and I will unsheathe the sword after you; and your land will become a desolation and your cities a ruin.
34Then the land will enjoy its sabbaths all the days of its desolation, while you are in the land of your enemies; then the land will rest and make up for its sabbaths.
35All the days of its desolation it will rest — the rest that it did not have during your sabbaths while you were dwelling on it.
36And as for those who are left among you, I will bring faintness into their hearts in the lands of their enemies, so that the sound of a driven leaf will chase them, and they will flee as one flees from the sword, and they will fall though no one is pursuing.
37They will stumble over one another as though before the sword, though no one is pursuing; and you will have no power to stand before your enemies.
38And you will perish among the nations, and the land of your enemies will consume you.
39And those who are left among you will waste away in their iniquity in the lands of your enemies; and also because of the iniquities of their fathers with them they will waste away.
40But if they confess their iniquity and the iniquity of their fathers, in their treachery by which they were unfaithful to me, and also that they walked with me in hostility —
41so that I too will walk with them in hostility and will bring them into the land of their enemies — if then their uncircumcised heart is humbled, and then they make amends for their iniquity,
42then I will remember my covenant with Jacob, and also my covenant with Isaac, and also my covenant with Abraham I will remember; and the land I will remember.
43For the land will be abandoned by them and will enjoy its sabbaths while it lies desolate without them, and they will make amends for their iniquity — because, yes, because they rejected my judgments and their soul abhorred my statutes.
44Yet even so, when they are in the land of their enemies, I will not reject them and I will not abhor them so as to destroy them completely, breaking my covenant with them; for I am Yahweh their God.
45But I will remember for their sake the covenant with the former ones, whom I brought out of the land of Egypt before the eyes of the nations, to be their God: I am Yahweh.
46These are the statutes and the judgments and the laws that Yahweh established between himself and the sons of Israel on Mount Sinai by the hand of Moses.
