And it will be, when all these things come upon you—the blessing and the curse that I have set before you—and you take them to heart among all the nations where Yahweh your God has driven you,
and you return to Yahweh your God and obey his voice, according to all that I am commanding you today—you and your children—with all your heart and with all your soul,
then Yahweh your God will restore your fortunes and have compassion on you, and he will return and gather you from all the peoples where Yahweh your God has scattered you.
If your banished one is at the end of the heavens, from there Yahweh your God will gather you, and from there he will take you.
And Yahweh your God will bring you to the land that your fathers possessed, and you will possess it, and he will do you good and make you more numerous than your fathers.
And Yahweh your God will circumcise your heart and the heart of your offspring, to love Yahweh your God with all your heart and with all your soul, so that you may live.
And Yahweh your God will put all these curses on your enemies and on those who hate you, who pursued you.
And you will return and obey the voice of Yahweh, and you will do all his commandments that I am commanding you today.
And Yahweh your God will make you abound in all the work of your hand, in the fruit of your womb, and in the fruit of your livestock, and in the fruit of your ground, for good; for Yahweh will again rejoice over you for good, as he rejoiced over your fathers,
when you obey the voice of Yahweh your God, keeping his commandments and his statutes that are written in this book of the law, when you return to Yahweh your God with all your heart and with all your soul.
For this commandment that I am commanding you today is not too difficult for you, nor is it far off.
It is not in the heavens, that you should say, ‘Who will go up for us to the heavens and take it for us and make us hear it, that we may do it?’
Nor is it beyond the sea, that you should say, ‘Who will cross over for us to the other side of the sea and take it for us and make us hear it, that we may do it?’
Rather, the word is very near to you—in your mouth and in your heart—to do it.
See, I have set before you today life and good, and death and evil,
in that I am commanding you today to love Yahweh your God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commandments and his statutes and his judgments, so that you may live and multiply, and Yahweh your God may bless you in the land that you are entering to possess.
But if your heart turns away and you do not obey, and you are drawn away and bow down to other gods and serve them,
I declare to you today that you shall surely perish; you shall not prolong your days on the land that you are crossing the Jordan to enter and possess.
I call the heavens and the earth to witness against you today: I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse. So choose life, so that you may live, you and your offspring,
by loving Yahweh your God, by obeying his voice, and by clinging to him; for he is your life and the length of your days, that you may dwell on the ground that Yahweh swore to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give to them.
