Awake, awake! Put on your strength, Zion; put on your garments of splendor, Jerusalem, the holy city; for never again shall the uncircumcised and the unclean enter you.
Shake yourself from the dust, arise, be enthroned, Jerusalem; loose the bonds from your neck, captive Daughter Zion.
For thus says Yahweh: For nothing you were sold, and without silver you shall be redeemed.
For thus says the Lord Yahweh: To Egypt my people went down at first to sojourn there, and Assyria oppressed them for nothing.
And now, what have I here—declares Yahweh—that my people is taken away for nothing? Its rulers wail—declares Yahweh—and continually, all day long, my name is reviled.
Therefore my people shall know my name; therefore in that day they shall know that I am the one who speaks—here I am.
The Herald of Good News
How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of the herald, proclaiming peace, bringing good news of good, proclaiming salvation, saying to Zion, ‘Your God reigns!’
The voice of your watchmen—they lift up their voice, together they sing for joy; for eye to eye they see when Yahweh returns to Zion.
Break forth, sing for joy together, ruins of Jerusalem; for Yahweh has comforted his people, he has redeemed Jerusalem.
Yahweh has bared his holy arm in the sight of all the nations, and all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God.
Depart, depart, go out from there, touch nothing unclean; go out from her midst, purify yourselves, you who carry the vessels of Yahweh.
For not in haste shall you go out, nor in flight shall you go; for Yahweh goes before you, and the God of Israel is your rear guard.
The Suffering Servant
Behold, my servant shall prosper; he shall be raised and lifted up and be very high.
Just as many were appalled at you—so marred beyond that of a man was his appearance, and his form beyond that of the sons of man—
so shall he startle many nations; kings shall shut their mouths because of him. For what had not been told them they see, and what they had not heard they understand.
