Psalms 115

The AIT Bible

The Living God and Lifeless Idols

Not to us, Yahweh, not to us, but to your name give glory, because of your loyal love, because of your faithfulness.

Why should the nations say, “Where now is their God?”

But our God is in the heavens; all that he desires, he does.

Their idols are silver and gold, the work of human hands.

They have a mouth, but they do not speak; they have eyes, but they do not see;

they have ears, but they do not hear; they have a nose, but they do not smell;

their hands, but they do not feel; their feet, but they do not walk; they make no sound in their throat.

Those who make them become like them, everyone who trusts in them.

Trust in Yahweh, Your Help

Israel, trust in Yahweh! He is their help and their shield.

House of Aaron, trust in Yahweh! He is their help and their shield.

You who fear Yahweh, trust in Yahweh! He is their help and their shield.

Yahweh has remembered us; he will bless. He will bless the house of Israel; he will bless the house of Aaron.

He will bless those who fear Yahweh, the small together with the great.

May Yahweh add to you, to you and to your children.

Blessed are you by Yahweh, maker of heaven and earth.

The heavens are the heavens for Yahweh, but the earth he has given to the children of humankind.

The dead do not praise Yah, nor any who go down into silence.

But we will bless Yah from now and forever. Praise Yah!
