Psalms 114

The AIT Bible

The Earth Trembles at God's Presence

1When Israel went out from Egypt, the house of Jacob from a people of strange speech,

2Judah became his sanctuary, Israel his dominion.

3The sea saw and fled; the Jordan turned back.

4The mountains skipped like rams, the hills like young of the flock.

5What ails you, sea, that you flee, Jordan, that you turn back?

6Mountains, that you skip like rams, hills, like young of the flock?

7Tremble, O earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob,

8who turns the rock into a pool of water, the flint into a spring of water.
