1You shall not see your brother’s ox or his sheep straying and hide yourself from them; you shall surely return them to your brother.
2And if your brother is not near you, or you do not know him, then you shall bring it into your house, and it shall remain with you until your brother seeks it; then you shall return it to him.
3And so you shall do with his donkey, and so you shall do with his garment, and so you shall do with any lost thing of your brother’s that is lost from him and you find it; you are not able to hide yourself.
4You shall not see your brother’s donkey or his ox fallen down on the road and hide yourself from them; you shall surely raise them up with him.
5A man’s gear shall not be on a woman, nor shall a man wear a woman’s garment, for everyone who does these things is an abomination to Yahweh your God.
6If a bird’s nest happens to be before you along the road, in any tree or on the ground, with young ones or eggs, and the mother crouching over the young or over the eggs, you shall not take the mother along with the young.
7You shall surely let the mother go, but the young you may take for yourself, so that it may go well for you and you may prolong your days.
8When you build a new house, you shall make a parapet for your roof, so that you do not bring bloodguilt on your house if anyone falls from it.
9You shall not sow your vineyard with two kinds of seed, lest the fullness be forfeited — the seed that you sow and the produce of the vineyard.
10You shall not plow with an ox and a donkey together.
11You shall not wear mixed cloth, wool and linen together.
12You shall make tassels for yourself on the four corners of your covering with which you cover yourself.
13If a man takes a wife and goes in to her and then hates her,
14and he brings charges of misconduct against her and puts out an evil name against her, saying, ‘This woman I took, and I approached her, but I did not find in her the tokens of virginity,’
15then the young woman’s father and her mother shall take and bring out the tokens of the young woman’s virginity to the elders of the city at the gate.
16And the young woman’s father shall say to the elders, ‘I gave my daughter to this man as a wife, and he has come to hate her,
17and behold, he has brought charges of misconduct, saying, “I did not find in your daughter the tokens of virginity” — but these are the tokens of my daughter’s virginity.’ And they shall spread out the garment before the elders of the city.
18Then the elders of that city shall take the man and discipline him.
19And they shall fine him a hundred shekels of silver and give them to the young woman’s father, because he brought out an evil name against a virgin of Israel; and she shall remain his wife — he may not send her away all his days.
20But if this matter was true, and no tokens of virginity were found for the young woman,
21then they shall bring the young woman out to the door of her father’s house, and the men of her city shall stone her with stones so that she dies, because she has done a disgraceful thing in Israel, playing the whore in her father’s house; so you shall purge the evil from your midst.
22If a man is found lying with a woman married to a husband, then both of them shall die — the man who lay with the woman, and the woman; so you shall purge the evil from Israel.
23If there is a young woman, a virgin betrothed to a man, and a man finds her in the city and lies with her,
24then you shall bring the two of them out to the gate of that city and stone them with stones so that they die — the young woman because she did not cry out in the city, and the man because he violated his neighbor’s wife; so you shall purge the evil from your midst.
25But if the man finds the betrothed young woman in the field, and the man seizes her and lies with her, then only the man who lay with her shall die.
26But to the young woman you shall do nothing; the young woman has no sin deserving death. For this matter is like the case when a man rises against his neighbor and murders him — a life; so is this matter.
27For he found her in the field; the betrothed young woman cried out, and there was no one to save her.
28If a man finds a young woman, a virgin who is not betrothed, and seizes her and lies with her, and they are found,
29then the man who lay with her shall give the young woman’s father fifty shekels of silver, and she shall become his wife, because he violated her; he may not send her away all his days.
30A man shall not take his father’s wife, nor uncover his father’s skirt.
