Psalms 8

The AIT Bible

0For the director, upon the gittith. A psalm of David.

How Majestic Is Your Name

1Yahweh, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You who have set your splendor over the heavens.

2From the mouth of infants and nursing children you have founded strength, on account of your foes, to still the enemy and the avenger.

3When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars that you have set in place —

4what is man that you remember him, and the son of man that you attend to him?

5Yet you made him lack but little of God, and with glory and honor you crown him.

6You make him rule over the works of your hands; you have put everything under his feet:

7sheep and oxen, all of them, and also the beasts of the field,

8the birds of the heavens and the fish of the sea, whatever passes along the paths of the seas.

9Yahweh, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!
