Psalms 66

The AIT Bible

Let All the Earth Shout for Joy

For the choirmaster. A song. A psalm. Shout for joy to God, all the earth!

Sing the glory of his name; make his praise glorious.

Say to God, “How awesome are your deeds! Because of the greatness of your strength your enemies cringe before you.

All the earth bows down to you and sings praise to you; they sing praise to your name.” Selah.

Come and see the works of God, awesome in his dealing with the children of humankind.

He turned the sea into dry land; they crossed through the river on foot. There we rejoiced in him.

He rules by his might forever; his eyes keep watch over the nations. Let the rebellious not exalt themselves. Selah.

Bless our God, O peoples, and make the sound of his praise be heard.

He is the one who has kept our life among the living and has not let our foot slip.

For you tested us, O God; you refined us as silver is refined.

You brought us into the net; you laid a heavy burden on our backs.

You let men ride over our heads; we went through fire and through water, but you brought us out to abundance.

I Will Recount What He Has Done

I will come into your house with burnt offerings; I will pay you my vows,

which my lips uttered and my mouth spoke when I was in distress.

I will offer up to you burnt offerings of fatlings, with the smoke of rams; I will prepare cattle with male goats. Selah.

Come, hear, all you who fear God, and I will recount what he has done for my life.

To him I called out with my mouth, and high praise was under my tongue.

If I had cherished iniquity in my heart, the Lord would not have listened.

But truly God has listened; he has attended to the voice of my prayer.

Blessed be God, who has not turned away my prayer or his loyal love from me.
