1On that day a fountain will be opened for the house of David and for the inhabitants of Jerusalem, for sin and for impurity.
2And it will happen on that day, declares Yahweh of hosts, that I will cut off the names of the idols from the land, and they will no longer be remembered; and also the prophets and the spirit of impurity I will remove from the land.
3And it will happen that if anyone still prophesies, his father and his mother who bore him will say to him, ‘You shall not live, for you have spoken falsehood in the name of Yahweh.’ And his father and his mother who bore him will pierce him through when he prophesies.
4And it will happen on that day that the prophets will be ashamed, each of his vision when he prophesies, and they will not put on a hairy mantle in order to deceive.
5And he will say, ‘I am no prophet; I am a man who works the soil, for a man acquired me from my youth.’
6And someone will say to him, ‘What are these wounds between your hands?’ And he will say, ‘Those with which I was struck in the house of those who love me.’
7O sword, awake against my shepherd, and against the man who is my companion, declares Yahweh of hosts. Strike the shepherd, and the flock will be scattered, and I will turn my hand against the little ones.
8And it will happen in all the land, declares Yahweh, that two portions in it will be cut off and perish, but the third will be left in it.
9And I will bring the third into the fire, and I will refine them as one refines silver, and I will test them as one tests gold. They will call on my name, and I will answer them. I will say, ‘They are my people,’ and they will say, ‘Yahweh is my God.’
