For the director. A psalm of David. A song.
To you silence is praise, O God, in Zion; and to you a vow shall be fulfilled.
O you who hear prayer, to you all flesh shall come.
Matters of iniquities have overpowered me; our transgressions—you yourself atone for them.
Blessed is the one you choose and bring near to dwell in your courts; we shall be satisfied with the goodness of your house, the holiness of your temple.
With awesome deeds in righteousness you answer us, O God of our salvation, the confidence of all the ends of the earth and of the distant sea.
who establishes the mountains by his strength, girded with might;
who stills the roaring of the seas, the roaring of their waves, and the tumult of the peoples.
And those who dwell at the ends fear because of your signs; you make the outgoings of morning and evening shout for joy.
You have visited the earth and watered it; you greatly enrich it. The channel of God is full of water; you provide their grain, for so you have prepared it.
Drenching its furrows, settling its ridges, with showers you soften it; you bless its growth.
You have crowned the year of your goodness, and your tracks drip with fatness.
The pastures of the wilderness drip, and the hills gird themselves with rejoicing.
The meadows are clothed with flocks, and the valleys are mantled with grain; they shout for joy, indeed they sing.
