Psalms 16

The AIT Bible

Yahweh Is My Chosen Portion

1A miktam of David. Keep me, O God, for in you I have taken refuge.

2I said to Yahweh, “You are my Lord; my good is nothing apart from you.”

3As for the holy ones who are in the land, they are the majestic ones in whom is all my delight.

4The sorrows of those who hurry after another god will multiply; I will not pour out their libations of blood, nor will I lift their names upon my lips.

5Yahweh is my allotted portion and my cup; you hold my lot.

6The measuring lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; indeed, my inheritance is beautiful to me.

7I will bless Yahweh, who has counseled me; even in the nights my innermost being disciplines me.

8I have set Yahweh before me continually; because he is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.

9Therefore my heart is glad and my glory rejoices; my flesh also dwells secure.

10For you will not abandon my life to Sheol, nor will you let your faithful one see the pit.

11You will make known to me the path of life; fullness of joys is with your presence, pleasures at your right hand forever.
