1Praise Yah! Give thanks to Yahweh, for he is good, for his loyal love endures forever.
2Who can recount the mighty deeds of Yahweh, or proclaim all his praise?
3Blessed are those who keep justice, who do righteousness at all times.
4Remember me, Yahweh, with the favor toward your people; visit me with your salvation,
5that I may see the good of your chosen ones, that I may rejoice in the joy of your nation, that I may glory with your inheritance.
6We have sinned along with our fathers; we have done wrong, we have acted wickedly.
7Our fathers in Egypt did not consider your wonders; they did not remember the abundance of your acts of loyal love, but rebelled at the sea, at the Sea of Reeds.
8Yet he saved them for the sake of his name, to make known his might.
9He rebuked the Sea of Reeds, and it dried up; he led them through the deeps as through the wilderness.
10He saved them from the hand of the one who hated them, and redeemed them from the hand of the enemy.
11The waters covered their adversaries; not one of them was left.
12Then they believed his words; they sang his praise.
13They quickly forgot his deeds; they did not wait for his counsel.
14They gave in to craving in the wilderness, and put God to the test in the desert.
15So he gave them their request, but sent a wasting disease into their throat.
16They grew jealous of Moses in the camp, and of Aaron, the holy one of Yahweh.
17The earth opened and swallowed Dathan, and covered over the company of Abiram.
18Fire blazed against their company; a flame consumed the wicked.
19They made a calf at Horeb and bowed down to a cast idol.
20They exchanged their glory for the image of an ox that eats grass.
21They forgot God their savior, who had done great things in Egypt,
22wonders in the land of Ham, awesome deeds at the Sea of Reeds.
23So he said he would destroy them—had not Moses his chosen one stood in the breach before him, to turn back his wrath from destroying.
24Then they despised the desirable land; they did not believe his word.
25They grumbled in their tents; they did not obey the voice of Yahweh.
26So he lifted his hand against them, swearing to make them fall in the wilderness,
27and to make their offspring fall among the nations, and scatter them throughout the lands.
28They yoked themselves to Baal of Peor and ate sacrifices offered to the dead.
29They provoked him with their deeds, and a plague broke out among them.
30Then Phinehas stood up and intervened, and the plague was checked.
31And it was reckoned to him as righteousness, from generation to generation, forever.
32And they provoked wrath at the waters of Meribah, and it went badly for Moses on their account,
33for they embittered his spirit, and he spoke rashly with his lips.
34They did not destroy the peoples, of whom Yahweh had spoken to them,
35but they mingled with the nations and learned their deeds.
36And they served their idols, and these became a snare to them.
37And they sacrificed their sons and their daughters to the demons.
38And they poured out innocent blood, the blood of their sons and their daughters, whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan, and the land was polluted with the blood.
39And they became unclean by their deeds, and played the whore in their doings.
40And Yahweh’s anger burned against his people, and he abhorred his inheritance.
41And he gave them into the hand of nations, and those who hated them ruled over them.
42And their enemies oppressed them, and they were subdued under their hand.
43Many times he would deliver them, but they were rebellious in their counsel, and they were brought low in their iniquity.
44Yet he looked on their distress, when he heard their cry.
45And he remembered for their sake his covenant, and relented according to the abundance of his loyal love.
46And he made them objects of compassion before all their captors.
47Save us, Yahweh our God, and gather us from the nations, to give thanks to your holy name, to glory in your praise.
48Blessed be Yahweh, the God of Israel, from everlasting to everlasting! And let all the people say, ‘Amen!’ Praise Yah!
