Thus says Yahweh: “For three transgressions of Moab, and for four, I will not turn it back, because he burned the bones of the king of Edom to lime.
So I will send fire against Moab, and it will devour the citadels of Kerioth; and Moab will die amid uproar, amid a war cry, amid the sound of the trumpet.
And I will cut off the ruler from her midst, and all her officials I will kill with him, says Yahweh.”
Thus says Yahweh: “For three transgressions of Judah, and for four, I will not turn it back, because they rejected the law of Yahweh and did not keep his statutes, and their lies led them astray, the ones after which their fathers walked.
So I will send fire against Judah, and it will devour the citadels of Jerusalem.”
Thus says Yahweh: “For three transgressions of Israel, and for four, I will not turn it back, because they sell the righteous for silver, and the needy for a pair of sandals.
They who trample the head of the poor into the dust of the earth and thrust aside the way of the afflicted; a man and his father go in to the same girl, so as to profane my holy name.
And on garments taken in pledge they stretch themselves out beside every altar, and the wine of those who have been fined they drink in the house of their God.
Yet it was I who destroyed the Amorite before them, whose height was like the height of cedars, and who was strong as the oaks; and I destroyed his fruit above and his roots below.
And it was I who brought you up from the land of Egypt, and led you in the wilderness forty years, to take possession of the land of the Amorite.
And I raised up some of your sons as prophets, and some of your young men as Nazirites. Is this not so, O children of Israel? declares Yahweh.
But you made the Nazirites drink wine, and you commanded the prophets, saying, ‘You shall not prophesy.’
Behold, I am about to press down beneath you, as a cart presses down when it is full of sheaves.
Flight will perish from the swift, and the strong will not muster his strength, and the mighty man will not save his life.
The one who handles the bow will not stand his ground, and the swift of foot will not save himself, and the horseman will not save his life.
And the stout of heart among the mighty will flee away naked in that day, declares Yahweh.
