1Let God arise; let his enemies be scattered, and let those who hate him flee before him.
2As smoke is driven away, drive them away; as wax melts before fire, let the wicked perish before God.
3But the righteous will be glad; they will exult before God, and they will rejoice with joy.
4Sing to God; make music to his name. Lift up a song for the one who rides through the deserts—Yah is his name—and exult before him.
5Father of orphans and defender of widows is God in his holy dwelling.
6God settles the solitary in a home; he leads out prisoners into prosperity; but the rebellious dwell in a scorched land.
7O God, when you went out before your people, when you marched through the wasteland—Selah—
8the earth quaked; indeed, the heavens poured down before God—this Sinai—before God, the God of Israel.
9A rain of freewill gifts you sprinkled abundantly, O God; your inheritance, when it languished, you yourself established it.
10Your living creatures dwelt in it; in your goodness you provided for the poor, O God.
11The Lord gives the command; the women who proclaim the good news are a great host.
12Kings of armies flee, they flee! And she who stays at home divides the spoil.
13Though you lie down among the sheepfolds, the wings of a dove are covered with silver and her pinions with green gold.
14When the Almighty scattered kings there, it snowed on Zalmon.
15A mountain of God is the mountain of Bashan; a mountain of many peaks is the mountain of Bashan.
16Why do you look with envy, O many-peaked mountains, at the mountain God desired for his dwelling? Indeed, Yahweh will dwell there forever.
17The chariots of God are twice ten thousand, thousands upon thousands; the Lord is among them, Sinai in the sanctuary.
18You ascended on high, you led captivity captive, you received gifts among men—yes, even among the rebellious—that Yah God might dwell.
19Blessed be the Lord! Day by day he bears our burdens, the God of our salvation. Selah.
20God is for us a God of deliverances, and to Yahweh the Lord belong escapes from death.
21Surely God will shatter the head of his enemies, the hairy crown of one who walks about in his guilt.
22The Lord said, ‘From Bashan I will bring them back; I will bring them back from the depths of the sea,’
23so that you may bathe your foot in blood, that the tongue of your dogs may have its share from the enemies.
24They have seen your processions, O God, the processions of my God, my King, into the sanctuary.
25The singers went in front, after them the musicians, in the midst of young women playing tambourines.
26In the assemblies bless God, Yahweh, from the fountain of Israel.
27There is Benjamin, the youngest, ruling them, the princes of Judah in their throng, the princes of Zebulun, the princes of Naphtali.
28Your God has commanded your strength. Show your strength, O God, you who have acted for us.
29Because of your temple at Jerusalem, kings will bring you tribute.
30Rebuke the beast of the reeds, the herd of bulls among the calves of the peoples, trampling underfoot the pieces of silver. He has scattered the peoples who delight in battles.
31Nobles will come out of Egypt; Cush will stretch out its hands to God.
32Kingdoms of the earth, sing to God; make music to the Lord — Selah —
33to the one who rides upon the highest heavens of old. Behold, he gives forth his voice, a mighty voice.
34Ascribe strength to God; his majesty is over Israel, and his strength is in the skies.
35Awesome is God from your sanctuaries. The God of Israel — he it is who gives strength and might to the people. Blessed be God!
