1And Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying:
2“Command the sons of Israel and say to them: When you enter the land of Canaan, this is the land that shall fall to you as an inheritance, the land of Canaan according to its boundaries.
3Your southern side shall run from the Wilderness of Zin along the border of Edom, and your southern boundary shall run from the end of the Salt Sea on the east.
4Then your boundary shall turn south of the Ascent of Akrabbim, cross over to Zin, and its limits shall be south of Kadesh-barnea; then it shall go out to Hazar-addar and pass over to Azmon.
5And the boundary shall turn from Azmon to the Wadi of Egypt, and its limits shall be at the Sea.
6As for the western boundary, the Great Sea shall be your boundary; this shall be your western boundary.
7And this shall be your northern boundary: from the Great Sea you shall mark out a line for yourselves to Mount Hor.
8From Mount Hor you shall mark out a line to Lebo-hamath, and the limits of the boundary shall be at Zedad.
9Then the boundary shall go out to Ziphron, and its limits shall be at Hazar-enan. This shall be your northern boundary.
10And you shall mark out for yourselves your eastern boundary, from Hazar-enan to Shepham.
11And the boundary shall go down from Shepham to Riblah, east of Ain; and the boundary shall go down and touch the slope of the Sea of Chinnereth on the east.
12And the boundary shall go down to the Jordan, and its limits shall be at the Salt Sea. This shall be your land according to its boundaries all around.”
13And Moses commanded the sons of Israel, saying: “This is the land that you shall inherit by lot, which Yahweh commanded to be given to the nine tribes and the half-tribe.
14For the tribe of the sons of the Reubenites, by their fathers’ houses, and the tribe of the sons of the Gadites, by their fathers’ houses, have received their inheritance, and the half-tribe of Manasseh have received their inheritance.
15The two tribes and the half-tribe have taken their inheritance beyond the Jordan of Jericho, eastward, toward the sunrise.”
16And Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying:
17“These are the names of the men who shall apportion the land to you as an inheritance: Eleazar the priest and Joshua son of Nun.
18And you shall take one leader from each tribe to apportion the land as an inheritance.
19And these are the names of the men: for the tribe of Judah, Caleb son of Jephunneh;
20and for the tribe of the sons of Simeon, Shemuel son of Ammihud;
21for the tribe of Benjamin, Elidad son of Chislon;
22and for the tribe of the sons of Dan, a leader, Bukki son of Jogli;
23for the sons of Joseph: for the tribe of the sons of Manasseh, a leader, Hanniel son of Ephod;
24and for the tribe of the sons of Ephraim, a leader, Kemuel son of Shiphtan;
25and for the tribe of the sons of Zebulun, a leader, Elizaphan son of Parnach;
26and for the tribe of the sons of Issachar, a leader, Paltiel son of Azzan;
27and for the tribe of the sons of Asher, a leader, Ahihud son of Shelomi;
28and for the tribe of the sons of Naphtali, a leader, Pedahel son of Ammihud.
29These are the ones whom Yahweh commanded to apportion the inheritance to the sons of Israel in the land of Canaan.
