And Yahweh said to Moses: Speak to the priests, the sons of Aaron, and say to them: None shall defile himself for a dead person among his people,
except for his close relative who is near to him: for his mother and for his father, and for his son and for his daughter, and for his brother,
and for his sister, the virgin who is near to him, who has not belonged to a man — for her he may defile himself.
He shall not defile himself as a husband among his people, profaning himself.
They shall not make a bald patch on their head, nor shall they shave off the edge of their beard, nor shall they make gashes in their flesh.
They shall be holy to their God, and they shall not profane the name of their God; for the fire offerings of Yahweh, the food of their God, they are the ones who present, so they shall be holy.
They shall not take a woman who is a prostitute or defiled, and they shall not take a woman divorced from her husband; for he is holy to his God.
You shall consecrate him, for he presents the food of your God; he shall be holy to you, for I, Yahweh, who consecrate you, am holy.
And if the daughter of any priest profanes herself by playing the prostitute, she profanes her father; she shall be burned with fire.
And the priest who is greatest among his brothers, on whose head the anointing oil has been poured and who has been ordained to wear the garments, shall not let his hair hang loose nor tear his garments.
He shall not come near any dead person; he shall not defile himself for his father or for his mother.
He shall not go out of the sanctuary, and he shall not profane the sanctuary of his God, for the consecration of the anointing oil of his God is upon him. I am Yahweh.
And he shall take a wife in her virginity.
A widow, or a divorced woman, or one defiled, a prostitute — these he shall not take; but a virgin from his own people he shall take as a wife.
He shall not profane his offspring among his people, for I am Yahweh who consecrates him.
And Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying:
Speak to Aaron, saying: No man of your offspring throughout their generations who has a blemish in him shall draw near to present the food of his God.
For no man who has a blemish in him shall draw near: no man who is blind or lame, or disfigured or with a limb too long,
or a man who has a broken foot or a broken hand,
or hunchbacked or a dwarf, or with a defect in his eye, or with a scab or an eruption, or with crushed testicles.
No man of the offspring of Aaron the priest who has a blemish in him shall approach to present the fire offerings of Yahweh; he has a blemish, he shall not approach to present the food of his God.
He may eat the food of his God, from the most holy things and from the holy things.
But he shall not come to the veil nor approach the altar, because he has a blemish, that he may not profane my sanctuaries; for I am Yahweh who consecrates them.
So Moses spoke to Aaron and to his sons, and to all the sons of Israel.
