1Then Job answered Yahweh and said:
2“I know that you can do all things, and that no purpose of yours can be thwarted.
3‘Who is this who obscures counsel without knowledge?’ Therefore I declared what I did not understand, things too wonderful for me, which I did not know.
4‘Hear now, and I will speak; I will question you, and you make it known to me.’
5By the hearing of the ear I had heard of you, but now my eye has seen you.
6Therefore I reject and repent in dust and ashes.”
7And it happened, after Yahweh had spoken these words to Job, that Yahweh said to Eliphaz the Temanite, “My anger burns against you and against your two companions, for you have not spoken of me what is right, as my servant Job has.
8Now then, take for yourselves seven bulls and seven rams, and go to my servant Job, and offer up a burnt offering for yourselves; and my servant Job will pray for you—for I will lift up his face, so as not to deal with you according to your folly—for you have not spoken of me what is right, as my servant Job has.”
9So Eliphaz the Temanite and Bildad the Shuhite and Zophar the Naamathite went and did as Yahweh had told them, and Yahweh lifted up the face of Job.
10And Yahweh restored the fortunes of Job when he prayed for his companions, and Yahweh added to all that Job had, doubling it.
11Then all his brothers and all his sisters and all who had known him before came to him, and they ate bread with him in his house; and they showed him sympathy and comforted him for all the evil that Yahweh had brought upon him. And each one gave him a piece of money and each a ring of gold.
12And Yahweh blessed the latter days of Job more than his beginning; and he had fourteen thousand sheep, and six thousand camels, and a thousand yoke of oxen, and a thousand female donkeys.
13And he had seven sons and three daughters.
14He called the name of the first Jemimah, and the name of the second Keziah, and the name of the third Keren-happuch.
15And in all the land no women were found as beautiful as Job’s daughters, and their father gave them an inheritance among their brothers.
16And Job lived after this a hundred and forty years, and he saw his sons and his sons’ sons, four generations.
17And Job died, old and full of days.
