You shall make an altar for burning incense; of acacia wood you shall make it.
A cubit shall be its length and a cubit its width — it shall be square — and two cubits its height; its horns shall be of one piece with it.
You shall overlay it with pure gold — its top and its walls all around and its horns — and you shall make for it a molding of gold all around.
You shall make two rings of gold for it beneath its molding, on its two sides; you shall make them on its two flanks, and they shall serve as housings for poles by which to carry it.
You shall make the poles of acacia wood and overlay them with gold.
You shall place it before the veil that is by the ark of the testimony, before the mercy seat that is over the testimony, where I will meet with you.
Aaron shall burn fragrant incense on it; every morning, when he tends the lamps, he shall burn it.
And when Aaron sets up the lamps at twilight, he shall burn it — a regular incense before Yahweh throughout your generations.
You shall not offer up on it unauthorized incense, nor a burnt offering nor a grain offering; and you shall not pour out a drink offering on it.
Aaron shall make atonement on its horns once a year; with the blood of the sin offering of atonement, once a year, he shall make atonement on it throughout your generations. It is most holy to Yahweh.
Then Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying:
When you take a census of the sons of Israel to count them, each shall give a ransom for his life to Yahweh when they are counted, so that no plague may come upon them when they are counted.
This is what everyone who passes over to those counted shall give: half a shekel by the shekel of the sanctuary — twenty gerahs to the shekel — half a shekel as a contribution to Yahweh.
Everyone who passes over to those counted, from twenty years old and upward, shall give the contribution of Yahweh.
The rich shall not give more, and the poor shall not give less than the half shekel, when you give the contribution of Yahweh to make atonement for your lives.
You shall take the atonement money from the sons of Israel and assign it to the service of the tent of meeting, and it shall be for the sons of Israel a memorial before Yahweh, to make atonement for your lives.
Then Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying:
You shall make a basin of bronze, with its stand of bronze, for washing; and you shall place it between the tent of meeting and the altar, and put water in it.
Aaron and his sons shall wash their hands and their feet from it.
When they come into the tent of meeting, they shall wash with water so that they do not die; or when they draw near to the altar to minister, to burn a fire offering to Yahweh,
they shall wash their hands and their feet so that they do not die. It shall be a perpetual statute for them, for him and for his descendants throughout their generations.
Then Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying:
As for you, take for yourself the finest spices: of flowing myrrh, five hundred shekels; and of fragrant cinnamon, half as much, two hundred fifty; and of fragrant cane, two hundred fifty;
and of cassia, five hundred, by the shekel of the sanctuary; and of olive oil, a hin.
You shall make of it a holy anointing oil, a fragrant blend, the work of a perfumer; it shall be a holy anointing oil.
With it you shall anoint the tent of meeting and the ark of the testimony,
and the table and all its vessels, and the lampstand and its vessels, and the altar of incense,
and the altar of burnt offering and all its vessels, and the basin with its stand.
You shall consecrate them, and they shall be most holy; whatever touches them shall become holy.
You shall anoint Aaron and his sons and consecrate them to serve me as priests.
And you shall speak to the sons of Israel, saying: ‘This shall be for me a holy anointing oil throughout your generations.
It shall not be poured on the flesh of a human, and you shall not make any like it in the same proportion. It is holy; it shall be holy to you.
Whoever compounds any like it, or whoever puts any of it on a layperson, shall be cut off from his people.’
And Yahweh said to Moses: ‘Take for yourself spices — stacte and onycha and galbanum, spices and pure frankincense; each shall be in equal part.
And you shall make it into incense, a perfume, the work of a perfumer, salted, pure, holy.
And you shall grind some of it fine, and you shall put some of it before the testimony in the tent of meeting, where I will meet with you. It shall be most holy to you.
And the incense that you shall make, you shall not make for yourselves in the same proportion; it shall be holy to you for Yahweh.
Whoever makes any like it, to smell it, shall be cut off from his people.’
