1And when they drew near to Kaserin, which is opposite Nineveh,
2Raphael said, “You know how we left your father.
3Let us run ahead of your wife and prepare the house while they are coming.”
4And they both went on together. And he said to him, “Take the gall in your hand.” And the dog went with them, following behind.
5And Anna was sitting, watching the road for her son.
6And she recognized him coming and said to his father, “Look, your son is coming, and the man who went with him!”
7And Raphael said to Tobias, before he drew near to his father, “I know that his eyes will be opened.
8Smear the fish’s gall on his eyes, and the medicine will sting and scale off the white films from his eyes. And your father will regain his sight and see the light.”
9And Anna ran up and fell upon her son’s neck and said to him, “I have seen you, child! Now I can die.” And she wept.
10And Tobit stood up and, stumbling with his feet, went out the door of the courtyard. And Tobias went toward him,
11with the fish’s gall in his hand. And he blew into his eyes, took hold of him, and said, “Take courage, father.” And he applied the medicine to him and administered it.
12And when his eyes began to sting, he rubbed them,
13and with both his hands he peeled the white films from the corners of his eyes. And he fell upon his son’s neck,
14and he wept and said to him, “I see you, child, the light of my eyes!” And he said, “Blessed be God, and blessed be his great name, and blessed be all his holy angels. May his great name be upon us, and blessed be all the angels forever and ever.
15For he himself afflicted me, and look, I see Tobias my son.” And Tobias entered, rejoicing and blessing God with his whole being. And Tobias told his father that his journey had been successful and that he had brought the money, and how he had taken Sarah, the daughter of Raguel, as his wife, and that, look, she was arriving and was very near the gate of Nineveh.
16And Tobit went out to meet his daughter-in-law at the gate of Nineveh, rejoicing and blessing God. And when the people in Nineveh saw him walking and striding along with all his strength, and being led by no one’s hand, they were amazed.
17And Tobit acknowledged before them that God had shown him mercy and had opened his eyes. And Tobit approached Sarah, the wife of his son Tobias, and he blessed her and said to her, “May you enter in health, daughter. Blessed be your God who has brought you to us, daughter. And blessed be your father, and blessed be my son Tobias, and blessed be you, daughter. Enter your house in health, with blessing and joy. Enter, daughter.” On that day there was joy for all the Jews who were in Nineveh.
18And Ahikar and Nabad, his cousins, came to Tobit, rejoicing.
19And Tobias’s wedding feast was celebrated with gladness for seven days.
