1And Moses spoke to the heads of the tribes belonging to the sons of Israel, saying: This is the word that Yahweh has commanded.
2When a man makes a vow to Yahweh or swears an oath to bind an obligation upon his self, he shall not break his word; according to all that goes out of his mouth he shall do.
3And when a woman makes a vow to Yahweh and binds an obligation upon herself in her father’s house in her youth,
4and her father hears her vow and her obligation by which she has bound her self, and her father keeps silent toward her, then all her vows shall stand, and every obligation by which she has bound her self shall stand.
5But if her father restrains her on the day he hears, none of her vows or her obligations by which she has bound her self shall stand; and Yahweh will forgive her, because her father restrained her.
6And if she indeed belongs to a husband while her vows are upon her, or a rash utterance of her lips by which she has bound her self,
7and her husband hears it and keeps silent toward her on the day he hears, then her vows shall stand, and her obligations by which she has bound her self shall stand.
8But if on the day her husband hears it he restrains her and thereby annuls her vow that is upon her and the rash utterance of her lips by which she has bound her self, then Yahweh will forgive her.
9But the vow of a widow or a divorced woman—everything by which she has bound her self—shall stand against her.
10And if in her husband’s house she made a vow or bound an obligation upon her self by an oath,
11and her husband heard it and kept silent toward her, and did not restrain her, then all her vows shall stand, and every obligation by which she has bound her self shall stand.
12But if her husband indeed annuls them on the day he hears them, then anything that goes out of her lips concerning her vows or the obligation upon her self shall not stand; her husband has annulled them, and Yahweh will forgive her.
13Every vow and every binding oath to afflict the self, her husband may confirm it, and her husband may annul it.
14But if her husband keeps completely silent toward her from day to day, then he confirms all her vows or all her obligations that are upon her; he has confirmed them, because he kept silent toward her on the day he heard them.
15But if he indeed annuls them after he has heard them, then he shall bear her guilt.
16These are the statutes that Yahweh commanded Moses, between a man and his wife, between a father and his daughter in her youth while in her father’s house.
