1And Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying:
2Speak to the sons of Israel, saying: When a woman conceives and bears a male, she shall be unclean for seven days; as in the days of her menstrual impurity she shall be unclean.
3And on the eighth day the flesh of his foreskin shall be circumcised.
4Then for thirty-three days she shall remain in the blood of her purification; she shall not touch any holy thing, nor come into the sanctuary, until the days of her purification are fulfilled.
5But if she bears a female, then she shall be unclean for two weeks, as in her menstruation; and for sixty-six days she shall remain in the blood of her purification.
6And when the days of her purification are fulfilled, for a son or for a daughter, she shall bring a lamb in its first year for a burnt offering, and a young pigeon or a turtledove for a sin offering, to the entrance of the tent of meeting, to the priest.
7And he shall present it before Yahweh and make atonement for her, and she shall be clean from the flow of her blood. This is the instruction for the one who bears a child, for a male or for a female.
8But if her hand cannot find enough for a sheep, then she shall take two turtledoves or two young pigeons, one for a burnt offering and one for a sin offering; and the priest shall make atonement for her, and she shall be clean.
