And the word of Yahweh came to me, saying:
And you, son of man, thus says the Lord Yahweh to the land of Israel: An end! The end has come upon the four corners of the land.
Now the end is upon you, and I will send my anger against you and judge you according to your ways, and I will bring upon you all your abominations.
My eye will not spare you, and I will not have pity; for I will bring your ways upon you, and your abominations will be in your midst. Then you will know that I am Yahweh.
Thus says the Lord Yahweh: Disaster upon disaster—behold, it comes!
An end has come; the end has come; it has awakened against you—behold, it comes!
The doom has come upon you, O inhabitant of the land; the time has come, the day is near—tumult, and not the joyful shout of the mountains.
Now, soon, I will pour out my wrath upon you and spend my anger against you, and I will judge you according to your ways, and I will bring upon you all your abominations.
My eye will not spare, and I will not have pity; I will bring your ways upon you, and your abominations will be in your midst. Then you will know that I am Yahweh who strikes.
Behold, the day! Behold, it comes! The doom has gone out; the rod has budded, insolence has blossomed.
Violence has risen up into a rod of wickedness. Nothing of them, nothing of their multitude, nothing of their wealth, and no eminence among them.
The time has come, the day has arrived. Let the buyer not rejoice, and let the seller not mourn, for burning wrath is upon all her multitude.
For the seller will not return to what was sold, though they are still alive among the living; for the vision concerns all her multitude—it will not turn back—and as for each man in his iniquity, his life, they will not hold firm.
They have blown the trumpet and made everything ready, but no one goes to the battle, for my burning wrath is upon all her multitude.
The sword is outside, and pestilence and famine within; whoever is in the field will die by the sword, and whoever is in the city—famine and pestilence will devour him.
And their survivors will escape and be on the mountains like the doves of the valleys, all of them moaning, each in his iniquity.
All hands will grow slack, and all knees will run with water.
They will gird on sackcloth, and shuddering will cover them; on every face shame, and on all their heads baldness.
They will throw their silver into the streets, and their gold will become an impurity; their silver and their gold will not be able to deliver them on the day of Yahweh’s wrath. They will not satisfy their appetite nor fill their bellies, for it was the stumbling block of their iniquity.
The beauty of its ornament they turned into pride, and they made from it the images of their abominations, their detestable things. Therefore I have made it an impurity to them.
And I will give it into the hand of foreigners as plunder and to the wicked of the earth as spoil, and they will profane it.
And I will turn my face away from them, and they will profane my treasured place; robbers will enter it and profane it.
Make the chain, for the land is full of the judgment of bloodshed, and the city is full of violence.
And I will bring the most evil of nations, and they will take possession of their houses; I will put an end to the pride of the mighty, and their sanctuaries will be profaned.
Anguish comes, and they will seek peace, but there is none.
Disaster upon disaster will come, and rumor upon rumor; and they will seek a vision from a prophet, but instruction will perish from the priest and counsel from the elders.
The king will mourn, and the prince will be clothed with desolation, and the hands of the people of the land will tremble. According to their way I will deal with them, and by their own judgments I will judge them. Then they will know that I am Yahweh.
