Prophecy Against Gog of Magog

The word of Yahweh came to me, saying:

Son of man, set your face against Gog, of the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him.

And say: Thus says the Lord Yahweh: Behold, I am against you, Gog, chief prince of Meshech and Tubal.

I will turn you about and put hooks in your jaws, and I will bring you out with all your army, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed in full armor, a great assembly with shield and buckler, all of them wielding swords.

Persia, Cush, and Put with them, all of them with shield and helmet;

Gomer with all its troops; Beth-togarmah from the far north with all its troops—many peoples with you.

Be ready and make ready, you and all your assembly that is gathered around you, and be a guard for them.

After many days you will be mustered; in the latter years you will come to a land restored from the sword, gathered from many peoples upon the mountains of Israel, which had long been a perpetual waste. It had been brought out from the peoples, and they were all dwelling in security.

You will go up, coming like a storm; you will be like a cloud covering the land, you and all your troops and many peoples with you.

Thus says the Lord Yahweh: On that day, thoughts will arise in your heart, and you will devise an evil scheme.

And you will say, ‘I will go up against a land of unwalled villages; I will come upon those who are at ease, dwelling in security—all of them dwelling without a wall, having neither bars nor gates’—

to seize spoil and to carry off plunder, to turn your hand against the resettled ruins and against a people gathered from the nations, who have acquired livestock and possessions, who dwell at the center of the earth.

Sheba and Dedan and the merchants of Tarshish and all its young lions will say to you, ‘Have you come to seize spoil? Have you gathered your assembly to carry off plunder, to carry away silver and gold, to take livestock and possessions, to seize great spoil?’

Therefore prophesy, son of man, and say to Gog: Thus says the Lord Yahweh: On that day, when my people Israel dwell in security, will you not know it?

You will come from your place, from the far north, you and many peoples with you, all of them riding horses, a great assembly and a mighty army.

You will go up against my people Israel like a cloud covering the land. In the latter days it will happen, and I will bring you against my land, so that the nations may know me when I show myself holy through you before their eyes, O Gog.

Thus says the Lord Yahweh: Are you the one of whom I spoke in former days by the hand of my servants the prophets of Israel, who prophesied in those days, for years, that I would bring you against them?

And it will happen on that day, on the day when Gog comes against the land of Israel, declares the Lord Yahweh, that my wrath will rise in my nostrils.

In my jealousy and in the fire of my fury I have spoken: Surely on that day there will be a great earthquake on the land of Israel.

The fish of the sea and the birds of the sky and the beasts of the field and every creeping thing that creeps on the ground, and every human being that is on the face of the ground, will quake at my presence. The mountains will be thrown down, the cliffs will fall, and every wall will fall to the ground.

I will summon a sword against him throughout all my mountains, declares the Lord Yahweh; every man’s sword will be against his brother.

I will enter into judgment with him with plague and with bloodshed; and torrential rain and hailstones, fire and sulfur I will rain down on him and on his troops and on the many peoples who are with him.

So I will magnify myself and show myself holy, and I will make myself known before the eyes of many nations. Then they will know that I am Yahweh.
