Then Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying:
On the day of the first month, on the first of the month, you shall set up the tabernacle of the tent of meeting.
And you shall place there the ark of the testimony, and you shall screen the ark with the veil.
And you shall bring in the table and set out its arrangement, and you shall bring in the lampstand and set up its lamps.
And you shall put the golden altar for incense before the ark of the testimony, and you shall set the screen of the entrance to the tabernacle.
And you shall put the altar of burnt offering before the entrance of the tabernacle of the tent of meeting.
And you shall put the basin between the tent of meeting and the altar, and you shall put water there.
And you shall set up the courtyard all around, and you shall set the screen of the gate of the courtyard.
And you shall take the anointing oil and anoint the tabernacle and all that is in it, and you shall consecrate it and all its vessels, and it shall be holy.
And you shall anoint the altar of burnt offering and all its vessels, and you shall consecrate the altar, and the altar shall be most holy.
And you shall anoint the basin and its stand, and you shall consecrate it.
And you shall bring Aaron and his sons near to the entrance of the tent of meeting, and you shall wash them with water.
And you shall clothe Aaron with the holy garments, and you shall anoint him and consecrate him, so that he may serve as priest to me.
And his sons you shall bring near, and you shall clothe them with tunics.
And you shall anoint them just as you anointed their father, so that they may serve as priests to me; and their anointing shall come to be for them a perpetual priesthood throughout their generations.
And Moses did according to all that Yahweh commanded him; so he did.
And it came to pass in the first month, in the second year, on the first of the month, that the tabernacle was set up.
And Moses set up the tabernacle: he laid its bases, and he placed its frames, and he set in its crossbars, and he set up its pillars.
And he spread the tent over the tabernacle, and he placed the covering of the tent over it on top, just as Yahweh had commanded Moses.
And he took and put the testimony into the ark, and he set the poles on the ark, and he placed the atonement cover on the ark on top.
And he brought the ark into the tabernacle, and he set up the veil of the screen and screened the ark of the testimony, just as Yahweh had commanded Moses.
And he put the table in the tent of meeting, on the north side of the tabernacle, outside the veil.
And he set out on it an arrangement of bread before Yahweh, just as Yahweh had commanded Moses.
And he put the lampstand in the tent of meeting, opposite the table, on the south side of the tabernacle.
And he set up the lamps before Yahweh, just as Yahweh had commanded Moses.
And he put the golden altar in the tent of meeting, before the veil.
And he burned on it fragrant incense, just as Yahweh had commanded Moses.
And he set the screen of the entrance to the tabernacle.
And the altar of burnt offering he placed at the entrance of the tabernacle of the tent of meeting, and he offered up on it the burnt offering and the grain offering, just as Yahweh had commanded Moses.
And he put the basin between the tent of meeting and the altar, and he put water there for washing.
And Moses and Aaron and his sons would wash their hands and their feet from it.
When they came into the tent of meeting and when they drew near to the altar, they would wash, just as Yahweh had commanded Moses.
And he set up the courtyard around the tabernacle and the altar, and put up the screen of the courtyard gate. So Moses finished the work.
Then the cloud covered the tent of meeting, and the glory of Yahweh filled the tabernacle.
And Moses was not able to enter the tent of meeting, because the cloud settled upon it and the glory of Yahweh filled the tabernacle.
Whenever the cloud was taken up from over the tabernacle, the sons of Israel would set out, throughout all their journeys.
But if the cloud was not taken up, they would not set out until the day it was taken up.
For the cloud of Yahweh was over the tabernacle by day, and fire would be in it by night, in the sight of all the house of Israel, throughout all their journeys.
