1But Solomon built his own house thirteen years, and he finished all his house.
2He built the House of the Forest of Lebanon: a hundred cubits its length, fifty cubits its width, and thirty cubits its height, on four rows of cedar pillars, with cedar beams upon the pillars.
3It was paneled with cedar above, over the side-chambers that were on the pillars — forty-five of them, fifteen to a row.
4There were window-frames in three rows, and light-opening facing light-opening, three times.
5And all the doorways and the doorposts were square-framed, with light-opening facing light-opening, three times.
6He made the Hall of Pillars: fifty cubits its length and thirty cubits its width, with a porch in front of them, and pillars and a canopy in front of them.
7He made the Hall of the Throne, where he would judge, the Hall of Judgment; and it was paneled with cedar from floor to floor.
8And his own house where he would dwell, in the other courtyard set back from the hall, was of similar workmanship. He also made a house like this hall for Pharaoh’s daughter, whom Solomon had taken as wife.
9All these were of costly stones, cut to measure, sawn with the saw on the inside and the outside, from the foundation up to the coping, and from the outside to the great courtyard.
10The foundation was of costly stones, large stones — stones of ten cubits and stones of eight cubits.
11And above were costly stones, cut to measure, and cedar.
12The great courtyard all around had three rows of hewn stone and a row of cedar beams, as with the inner courtyard of the house of Yahweh and the hall of the house.
13King Solomon sent and brought Hiram from Tyre.
14He was the son of a widow woman from the tribe of Naphtali, and his father was a Tyrian man, a worker in bronze. He was filled with the wisdom, the understanding, and the knowledge to do all work in bronze. He came to King Solomon and did all his work.
15He cast the two pillars of bronze: eighteen cubits was the height of the one pillar, and a cord of twelve cubits would encircle the second pillar.
16He made two capitals of cast bronze to set on the tops of the pillars: five cubits was the height of the one capital, and five cubits the height of the second capital.
17There were latticeworks of network design, wreaths of chainwork, for the capitals that were on top of the pillars — seven for the one capital and seven for the second capital.
18He made the pillars; and two rows around on the one latticework, to cover the capitals that were on top, with the pomegranates; and so he did for the second capital.
19The capitals that were on the top of the pillars were of lily-work, in the hall, four cubits.
20There were capitals on the two pillars, also above, close by the rounded part that was beside the latticework. And the pomegranates were two hundred, in rows all around, on the second capital.
21He set up the pillars at the hall of the temple; he set up the right-hand pillar and called its name Jachin, and he set up the left-hand pillar and called its name Boaz.
22On the top of the pillars was lily-work. So the work of the pillars was completed.
23He made the Sea of cast metal, ten cubits from its brim to its brim, round all about; five cubits was its height, and a line of thirty cubits would encircle it all around.
24Below its brim, gourds encircled it all around — ten to the cubit, surrounding the Sea all around; the gourds were in two rows, cast when it was cast.
25It stood on twelve oxen: three facing north, three facing west, three facing south, and three facing east; the Sea rested upon them from above, and all their hindquarters were toward the inside.
26Its thickness was a handbreadth, and its brim was made like the brim of a cup, like a lily blossom. It held two thousand baths.
27He made the ten stands of bronze: four cubits was the length of each stand, four cubits its width, and three cubits its height.
28And this was the workmanship of the stand: they had panels, and the panels were between the frames.
29And on the panels that were between the frames were lions, oxen, and cherubim; and on the frames there was a pedestal above; and beneath the lions and oxen were wreaths of hanging work.
30Each stand had four bronze wheels and axles of bronze, and its four feet had supports; beneath the laver were cast supports, each opposite the wreaths.
31Its mouth, inside the crown and upward, was a cubit; its mouth was round, made like a pedestal, a cubit and a half; and also on its mouth were engravings, and their panels were square, not round.
32The four wheels were underneath the panels, and the axles of the wheels were in the stand; the height of each wheel was a cubit and a half.
33The workmanship of the wheels was like the workmanship of a chariot wheel: their axles, their rims, their spokes, and their hubs were all cast metal.
34There were four supports at the four corners of each stand; the supports were of one piece with the stand.
35At the top of the stand there was a rounded band half a cubit high all around; and on top of the stand its stays and its panels were of one piece with it.
36On the plates of its stays and on its panels he carved cherubim, lions, and palm trees, according to the space of each, with wreaths all around.
37In this manner he made the ten stands: all of them had one casting, one measure, one form.
38He made ten basins of bronze; each basin held forty baths, and each basin was four cubits; there was one basin on each of the ten stands.
39He set five of the stands on the shoulder of the house, on the south side, and five on the shoulder of the house, on the north side; and he placed the Sea at the shoulder of the house, the right side, toward the east, facing south.
40Hiram made the basins, the shovels, and the bowls. So Hiram finished doing all the work that he did for King Solomon in the house of Yahweh:
41the two pillars, the two bowl-shaped capitals that were on top of the pillars, the two lattice networks to cover the two bowl-shaped capitals that were on top of the pillars,
42the four hundred pomegranates for the two networks—two rows of pomegranates for each network—to cover the two bowl-shaped capitals that were on the surface of the pillars,
43the ten stands and the ten basins on the stands,
44the one Sea and the twelve oxen beneath the Sea,
45the pots, the shovels, and the bowls. All these vessels that Hiram made for King Solomon in the house of Yahweh were of burnished bronze.
46In the plain of the Jordan the king cast them, in the clay ground between Succoth and Zarethan.
47Solomon left all the vessels unweighed because they were so very many; the weight of the bronze could not be determined.
48So Solomon made all the vessels that were in the house of Yahweh: the golden altar, and the table of gold on which was the bread of the Presence,
49the lampstands of pure gold, five on the right and five on the left, before the inner sanctuary; the flowers, the lamps, and the tongs of gold;
50the cups, the snuffers, the bowls, the ladles, and the firepans of pure gold; and the sockets for the doors of the inner house, the Most Holy Place, and for the doors of the house, the temple, of gold.
51So all the work that King Solomon did for the house of Yahweh was completed. Then Solomon brought in the holy things of David his father—the silver, the gold, and the vessels—and he placed them in the treasuries of the house of Yahweh.
