What the first believers called it
“I am the Way, the truth, and the life.” Jesus · John 14:6
You probably didn’t come here for a religion. Maybe you came with a question. That’s alright — that’s how it started for everyone.
The questions you actually have
“Can I actually be forgiven?”
Yes. Not cleaned-up first, not good-enough — as you are, today. No priest, no payment, no perfect words. One broken man just whispered “God, have mercy on me” — and walked away forgiven. Luke 18:13–14 The offer really is that simple, and it’s for you.
“Why are there so many churches?”
Because something simple got complicated. People built systems, drew lines, added rules Jesus never asked for. But underneath all the names and buildings there is one Lord and one story — and you don’t have to pick a team to come to him. You just have to come.
“Does God even care that I’m angry at him?”
He can take it. The man Jesus called the greatest who ever lived sat in a prison and sent word: “Are you even the one — or should I keep waiting?” Matthew 11:3 Jesus didn’t love him one ounce less. Bring the anger. Bring the doubt. He’d rather have your honest fists than your polite distance.
“Do I have to have it all figured out first?”
No. His closest friends walked with him three years and kept getting it wrong. Mark 8:17 He never once sent them away for not understanding. Come with empty hands and an open question. That’s all anyone ever brought him.
“Isn’t it too late for me?”
A criminal, hours from death, nailed up beside him, managed one sentence — and Jesus said, “Today you’ll be with me.” Luke 23:43 No time to fix his life. No chance to earn it. If it wasn’t too late for him, it isn’t too late for you.
“Okay — so what do I actually do?”
Believe he is who he said he is. Tell him so. Ask him in. That’s it — no ladder, no fee, no paperwork. “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” Romans 10:13 Everyone. Including you.
Underneath all of it
Strip away every argument, every denomination, every century of things men bolted on, and here is what Christians everywhere have actually stood on for two thousand years: God loved you. Christ died and rose for you. And you are saved by his grace, received through faith — not earned, not bought, not deserved.
A gift, held out with open hands. That is the whole house. Everything else is just rooms.
The doorway
No priest in the way. No payment. No fear of the verdict — because it is finished.
