Back to the Core

"I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."

Jesus · John 14:6

Christianity is unbelievably simple. For two thousand years, men have complicated the daylight out of it. This is the way back — to the bare cross, with nothing bolted on.

The Noise

You could scroll forever and never find the bottom of it.

A thousand religions. Ten thousand rules. Every feed selling a system, a ladder, a middleman, a membership, a fee. It is exhausting, and it is meant to be.

But at the center of the real thing, there was never a system. There was a Person, and a cross, and a one-word invitation. Come.

What Jesus Actually Said

Forget what men have said about him. Here is what he said with his own mouth.

"The kingdom of God has drawn near; repent and believe in the gospel."Mark 1:15
"Love the Lord your God with all your heart… and your neighbor as yourself."Matthew 22:37, 39
"God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him should not perish but have eternal life."John 3:16
"The Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost… to give his life as a ransom for many."Luke 19:10 · Mark 10:45

Believe. Repent. Follow. Love. That was the whole of it. No priest. No price. No paperwork.

Did His Men Keep to His Path?

They watched him do it, then went out and did the same — did they invent a new religion, or keep it simple?

"I resolved to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ, and him crucified."1 Corinthians 2:2
"Christ died for our sins… he was buried… he was raised on the third day."1 Corinthians 15:3–4
"Repent, and be baptized… for the forgiveness of your sins."Acts 2:38
"By grace you have been saved through faith… not from works, so that no one may boast."Ephesians 2:8–9
"There is one God, and one mediator between God and humanity, the man Christ Jesus."1 Timothy 2:5
"There is salvation in no one else… no other name under heaven… by which we must be saved."Acts 4:12

No new system. No caste of priests. No treasury of merit. The very same gospel — Christ, and him crucified. They walked in his footprints and left them plain enough for us to follow.

When Man Started Adding

So where did all the rest come from? Not from Jesus. Not from the apostles.

Piece by piece, century by century, men bolted their own things onto a cross that needed nothing added.

A sacrificing priesthood — 3rd century
The Mass as a repeated sacrifice
Purgatory · prayers for the dead
Indulgences · a treasury of merit
Transubstantiation — defined 1215
Papal supremacy & infallibility — defined 1870
The Marian dogmas — defined 1854 & 1950
And it did not stop with Rome. The same knife trims a Protestant too — the prosperity gospel, the celebrity pulpit, the new legalisms, the "our group alone." Barnacles grow on every hull.

Every one of them, an addition. Strip them all off, and the cross is still standing there — bare, and enough.

The Core, in Six Verses

Here is the whole doorway. Not a system. Six sentences.

Believe. Confess. Call. And you are saved, made a child of God, with God himself living in you. That is the whole of it. Come with empty hands.

Team Jesus

It is not a denomination. It is not a new church with a name on the sign.

Not a club you have to be good enough to join. Not a set of traditions men invented. It is the opposite of all of that.

One Captain. His name is Jesus.
One Rulebook. It is the Bible.
One Family. Ordinary, forgiven people who came with empty hands.

No priest in the way. No payment. No fear of the verdict — because it is finished.

If you have believed in your heart, confessed with your mouth, and called on his name…
you are already on the team. Welcome home.

Weighed, One by One

Every major faith and denomination, held to the same test.

Not to judge the millions of sincere people who hold them — to weigh the teachings. Fair where they're right, plain where they're not. Tap any one for the full claim, the Scripture answer, and the verdict.
