The very heavens increase its splendor; for every purpose, all things obey. All of them are different from one another, and he has not made any of them to cease.
The sun, in its form and heat, declares: How awesome are the works of Yahweh!
At its noon it boils the world; before its heat, who can stand?
Like a furnace fanned by the heat of a forge, the sun sends forth fire to ignite the mountains. The blast of the luminary consumes with a roar, and its light burns the eye.
For great is Yahweh who made it, and by his word he directs its mighty course.
And the moon also, month by month, marks the return of seasons, a ruler of the age and an everlasting sign.
By it are the appointed times and the seasons of the law; the will of its Maker is in its circuit.
Month by month it renews itself—how awesome in its changing! An instrument of the host, a lyre on high, paving the firmament with its shining.
The beauty of the sky is the glory of the stars, a light shining in the heights of God.
By the word of God, the decree stands firm, and they do not neglect their watches.
See the rainbow and bless its Maker, for it is exceedingly majestic in its splendor.
A decree has encircled it with glory; the hand of God stretched it out on high.
His power marks out the lightning and directs the flashes on high.
For this he created a storehouse, and clouds fly forth like birds.
In his majesty he strengthens the clouds, and hailstones are shattered.
The voice of his thunder makes his land writhe, with the blasts of the north wind, the whirlwind, and the storm.
With a flash he scatters his snow, and its descent is like locusts settling.
The beauty of its whiteness dazzles the eye, and the heart is amazed at its downpour.
He makes the frost settle like salt, and it glistens like palm blossoms.
The chill of the north wind blows, and it freezes the source of the water. It settles on every body of water, and the pool puts on a breastplate.
He consumes the produce of the mountains with drought and the green pastures with flame.
A healing for all comes swiftly—a dripping cloud of dew, restoring the parched land to richness.
By his design he stilled the great deep, and planted islands in the abyss.
Those who go down to the sea recount its extremity, and when we hear it with our ears, we are astonished.
There are wonders there, marvels of his work, every kind of living thing, and the mighty creatures of the deep.
Through him his messenger succeeds, and by his word his will is done.
We could say more of the same, but we would not finish; the sum of the matter is: He is the all.
Let us praise him yet more, though we cannot fathom him, for he is greater than all his works.
Yahweh is awesome, exceedingly so, and his works are wonderful.
You who praise Yahweh, lift up your voice with all your might, for there is still more.
Exalt him, renew your strength, and do not grow weary, for you can never fathom him.
There are many more wonders like these; I have seen but a few of his works.
Yahweh has made all things, and to those who fear him he has given wisdom. Praise of the Ancestors.
