Psalms 82

The AIT Bible

God in the Divine Assembly

1A psalm of Asaph. God takes his stand in the divine assembly; in the midst of the gods he renders judgment.

2How long will you judge unjustly and show partiality to the wicked? Selah.

3Judge on behalf of the weak and the orphan; do justice for the afflicted and the destitute.

4Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked.

5They neither know nor understand; they walk about in darkness; all the foundations of the earth are shaken.

6I myself have said, ‘You are gods, and all of you are sons of the Most High.’

7Nevertheless, like humankind you will die, and like one of the princes you will fall.

8Arise, God, judge the earth, for you shall take possession of all the nations.
