Psalms 122

The AIT Bible

A Prayer for Jerusalem’s Peace

1A Song of Ascents. Of David. I rejoiced when they said to me, “Let us go to the house of Yahweh.”

2Our feet were standing within your gates, O Jerusalem.

3Jerusalem, built up as a city that is joined together,

4to which the tribes went up, the tribes of Yah, as a testimony for Israel, to give thanks to the name of Yahweh.

5For there thrones were set for judgment, thrones for the house of David.

6Ask for the peace of Jerusalem: “May those who love you be at ease.”

7May peace be within your rampart, tranquility within your citadels.

8For the sake of my brothers and my companions, let me now say, “Peace be within you.”

9For the sake of the house of Yahweh our God, let me seek good for you.
