The Allotment for Simeon

The second lot came out for Simeon, for the tribe of the sons of Simeon according to their clans; and their inheritance was in the midst of the inheritance of the sons of Judah.

And they had within their inheritance: Beersheba, or Sheba, and Moladah,

and Hazar-shual, and Balah, and Ezem,

and Eltolad, and Bethul, and Hormah,

and Ziklag, and Beth-marcaboth, and Hazar-susah,

and Beth-lebaoth, and Sharuhen: thirteen cities with their villages.

Ain, Rimmon, and Ether, and Ashan: four cities with their villages,

together with all the villages that were around these cities as far as Baalath-beer, Ramah of the Negev. This was the inheritance of the tribe of the sons of Simeon according to their clans.

The inheritance of the sons of Simeon was taken from the portion of the sons of Judah, for the share of the sons of Judah was too large for them; so the sons of Simeon received an inheritance in the midst of their inheritance.

The Allotment for Zebulun

The third lot came up for the sons of Zebulun according to their clans, and the border of their inheritance reached as far as Sarid.

Their border went up westward, to Maralah, and touched Dabbesheth, and touched the wadi that is in front of Jokneam.

It turned back from Sarid eastward, toward the rising of the sun, to the border of Chisloth-tabor, then went out to Daberath, and went up to Japhia.

From there it passed on eastward, toward the sunrise, to Gath-hepher, to Eth-kazin; then it went out to Rimmon, which turns toward Neah.

Then the border turned around it on the north to Hannathon, and its endpoints were at the Valley of Iphtah-el.

Also Kattath, and Nahalal, and Shimron, and Idalah, and Bethlehem: twelve cities with their villages.

This was the inheritance of the sons of Zebulun according to their clans—these cities with their villages.

The Allotment for Issachar

For Issachar the fourth lot came out, for the sons of Issachar according to their clans.

Their border was: Jezreel, and Chesulloth, and Shunem,

and Hapharaim, and Shion, and Anaharath,

and Rabbith, and Kishion, and Ebez,

and Remeth, and En-gannim, and En-haddah, and Beth-pazzez.

The border touched Tabor, and Shahazumah, and Beth-shemesh, and the endpoints of their border were at the Jordan: sixteen cities with their villages.

This was the inheritance of the tribe of the sons of Issachar according to their clans—the cities with their villages.

The Allotment for Asher

The fifth lot came out for the tribe of the sons of Asher according to their clans.

Their border was: Helkath, and Hali, and Beten, and Achshaph,

and Allammelech, and Amad, and Mishal; and it touched Carmel on the west, and Shihor-libnath.

Then it turned toward the sunrise to Beth-dagon, and touched Zebulun and the Valley of Iphtah-el northward, to Beth-emek and Neiel; and it went out to Cabul on the left.

and Ebron, and Rehob, and Hammon, and Kanah, as far as Great Sidon.

Then the border turned back to Ramah, and as far as the fortified city of Tyre; and the border turned back to Hosah, and its endpoints were at the sea, from the region toward Achzib,

and Ummah, and Aphek, and Rehob: twenty-two cities with their villages.

This is the inheritance of the tribe of the sons of Asher according to their clans, these cities and their villages.

The Allotment for Naphtali

For the sons of Naphtali the sixth lot came out, for the sons of Naphtali according to their clans.

Their border ran from Heleph, from the oak in Zaanannim, and Adami-nekeb and Jabneel as far as Lakkum, and its limits were at the Jordan.

Then the border turned westward to Aznoth-tabor and went out from there to Hukkok; it touched Zebulun on the south, and Asher it touched on the west, and Judah at the Jordan toward the rising of the sun.

And the fortified cities were Ziddim, Zer, and Hammath, Rakkath, and Chinnereth,

and Adamah and Ramah and Hazor,

and Kedesh and Edrei and En-hazor,

and Iron and Migdal-el, Horem and Beth-anath and Beth-shemesh — nineteen cities and their villages.

This is the inheritance of the tribe of the sons of Naphtali according to their clans, the cities and their villages.

The Allotment for Dan

For the tribe of the sons of Dan according to their clans, the seventh lot came out.

And the border of their inheritance was Zorah and Eshtaol and Ir-shemesh,

and Shaalabbin and Aijalon and Ithlah,

and Elon and Timnah and Ekron,

and Eltekeh and Gibbethon and Baalath,

and Jehud and Bene-berak and Gath-rimmon,

and the waters of the Jarkon and the Rakkon, with the border opposite Joppa.

But the border of the sons of Dan went out beyond them, so the sons of Dan went up and fought against Leshem, and captured it, and struck it with the edge of the sword, and took possession of it and settled in it, and they called Leshem ‘Dan,’ after the name of Dan their father.

This is the inheritance of the tribe of the sons of Dan according to their clans, these cities and their villages.

Joshua's Inheritance

When they had finished apportioning the land according to its borders, the sons of Israel gave an inheritance in their midst to Joshua son of Nun.

By the mouth of Yahweh they gave him the city that he asked for, Timnath-serah in the hill country of Ephraim; and he rebuilt the city and settled in it.

The Division of the Land Completed

These are the inheritances that Eleazar the priest and Joshua son of Nun and the heads of the fathers’ houses of the tribes of the sons of Israel apportioned by lot in Shiloh before Yahweh, at the entrance of the tent of meeting. So they finished dividing the land.
