1For one who fears Yahweh will do this, and one who grasps the Torah will attain her.
2She will meet him like a mother, and receive him like a wife of his youth.
3She will feed him the bread of insight, and give him the water of understanding to drink.
4He will lean on her and not be shaken; he will trust in her and not be ashamed.
5She will exalt him above his neighbor, and in the midst of the assembly she will open his mouth.
6He will find joy and gladness, and she will give him an everlasting name to inherit.
7Worthless men will not attain her, and arrogant men will not see her.
8She is far from scoffers, and liars will not remember her.
9Praise is not fitting in the mouth of a wicked person, for it was not allotted to him from God.
10Praise will be spoken in the mouth of a wise person, and the one who rules by her will teach it.
11Do not say, “My transgression is from God,” for he did not make what he hates.
12Do not say, “He made me stumble,” for he has no need of violent men.
13Yahweh hates evil and abomination, and he will not let it happen to those who fear him.
14God created man from the beginning, and placed him in the hand of his seizer, and gave him into the hand of his inclination.
15If you desire, you can keep the commandment, and have the understanding to do his will. If you trust in him, you also will live.
16Fire and water are set before you; stretch out your hand to whichever you desire.
17Before humanity are life and death; whichever one desires will be given to him.
18For the wisdom of Yahweh is abundant; he is mighty in power and sees all.
19The eyes of God see his works, and he knows every deed of man.
20He did not command any person to sin, nor did he strengthen liars. He has no mercy on one who does worthless things, or on one who reveals a secret.
