Welcome the one who is weak in the faith, but not for the purpose of quarreling over opinions.
One person believes he may eat anything, while the one who is weak eats only vegetables.
The one who eats must not despise the one who does not eat, and the one who does not eat must not judge the one who eats, for God has welcomed him.
Who are you to judge another’s household servant? To his own master he stands or falls; and he will stand, for the Lord is able to make him stand.
For one person judges one day above another, while another judges every day alike; let each be fully convinced in his own mind.
The one who observes the day observes it for the Lord; and the one who eats, eats for the Lord, for he gives thanks to God; and the one who does not eat, abstains for the Lord, and he gives thanks to God.
For none of us lives to himself, and none dies to himself;
for if we live, we live for the Lord, and if we die, we die for the Lord. So whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord’s.
For to this end Christ died and lived again, that he might be Lord of both the dead and the living.
But you—why do you judge your brother? Or you again—why do you despise your brother? For we will all stand before the judgment seat of God.
For it is written: “As I live, says the Lord, to me every knee will bow, and every tongue will confess to God.”
So then each of us will give an account of himself to God.
Therefore let us no longer judge one another; but rather decide this: not to put a stumbling block or a hindrance before your brother.
I know and am persuaded in the Lord Jesus that nothing is unclean in itself; except to the one who reckons something to be unclean, to that person it is unclean.
For if because of food your brother is grieved, you are no longer walking according to love. Do not by your food destroy that one for whom Christ died.
Therefore do not let what is good for you be spoken of as evil.
For the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit;
for the one who serves Christ in this way is pleasing to God and approved by people.
So then let us pursue the things that make for peace and the things that build one another up.
Do not, for the sake of food, tear down the work of God. All things indeed are clean, but it is evil for the person who eats and thereby causes stumbling.
It is good not to eat meat, nor to drink wine, nor to do anything by which your brother stumbles.
The faith that you have, keep to yourself before God. Blessed is the one who does not condemn himself in what he approves.
But the one who has doubts is condemned if he eats, because it is not from faith; and everything that is not from faith is sin.
