This powerful addition to the book of Daniel is inserted into the story of the fiery furnace. As the three young men walk unharmed amidst the flames, one of them, Azariah (Abednego), offers a moving prayer. He confesses the sins of the nation that led to their exile but appeals to God's covenant mercy, asking for deliverance. An angel of the Lord then descends, driving the flames away and creating a cool dew within the furnace. In response, all three men lift their voices in a magnificent hymn, a litany that calls upon every part of creation—from the heavens and angels to the seas and all humanity—to bless and exalt the Lord forever. The work transforms a narrative of persecution into a profound expression of worship and trust.
