1And Yahweh spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying:
2The sons of Israel shall camp each by his own standard, under the banners of their fathers’ house; opposite, surrounding the tent of meeting, they shall camp.
3Those camping eastward, toward the sunrise: the standard of the camp of Judah, by their divisions; and the leader of the sons of Judah, Nahshon son of Amminadab.
4His division and its mustered ones: seventy-four thousand six hundred.
5Those camping next to him: the tribe of Issachar; and the leader of the sons of Issachar, Nethanel son of Zuar.
6His division and its mustered ones: fifty-four thousand four hundred.
7The tribe of Zebulun; and the leader of the sons of Zebulun, Eliab son of Helon.
8His division and its mustered ones: fifty-seven thousand four hundred.
9All the mustered ones of the camp of Judah: one hundred eighty-six thousand four hundred, by their divisions. They shall set out first.
10The standard of the camp of Reuben, toward the south, by their divisions; and the leader of the sons of Reuben, Elizur son of Shedeur.
11His division and its mustered ones: forty-six thousand five hundred.
12Those camping next to him: the tribe of Simeon; and the leader of the sons of Simeon, Shelumiel son of Zurishaddai.
13His division and its mustered ones: fifty-nine thousand three hundred.
14And the tribe of Gad; and the leader of the sons of Gad, Eliasaph son of Reuel.
15His division and its mustered ones: forty-five thousand six hundred fifty.
16All the mustered ones of the camp of Reuben: one hundred fifty-one thousand four hundred fifty, by their divisions. They shall set out second.
17Then the tent of meeting shall set out, the camp of the Levites in the midst of the camps; as they camp, so they shall set out, each in his place, by their standards.
18The standard of the camp of Ephraim, by their divisions, toward the west; and the leader of the sons of Ephraim, Elishama son of Ammihud.
19His division and its mustered ones: forty thousand five hundred.
20And next to him the tribe of Manasseh; and the leader of the sons of Manasseh, Gamaliel son of Pedahzur.
21His division and its mustered ones: thirty-two thousand two hundred.
22And the tribe of Benjamin; and the leader of the sons of Benjamin, Abidan son of Gideoni.
23His division and its mustered ones: thirty-five thousand four hundred.
24All the mustered ones of the camp of Ephraim: one hundred eight thousand one hundred, by their divisions. They shall set out third.
25The standard of the camp of Dan, toward the north, by their divisions; and the leader of the sons of Dan, Ahiezer son of Ammishaddai.
26His division and its mustered ones: sixty-two thousand seven hundred.
27Those camping next to him: the tribe of Asher; and the leader of the sons of Asher, Pagiel son of Ochran.
28His division and its mustered ones: forty-one thousand five hundred.
29And the tribe of Naphtali; and the leader of the sons of Naphtali, Ahira son of Enan.
30His division and its mustered ones: fifty-three thousand four hundred.
31All those mustered for the camp of Dan were 157,600. They shall set out last, by their standards.
32These are those mustered of the sons of Israel by their fathers’ houses; all those mustered of the camps, by their divisions, were 603,550.
33But the Levites were not mustered among the sons of Israel, just as Yahweh had commanded Moses.
34And the sons of Israel did according to all that Yahweh had commanded Moses; so they encamped by their standards, and so they set out, each by his clans, according to his fathers’ house.
