Baruch 5

The AIT Bible

Take off, Jerusalem, the robe of your mourning and affliction, and put on the splendor of the glory from God forever.

Wrap yourself in the mantle of righteousness from God; place on your head the turban of the glory of the Eternal One.

For God will show your splendor to all under heaven.

For your name will be called by God forever: ‘Peace of Righteousness’ and ‘Glory of Godliness.’

Arise, Jerusalem, and stand on the height; look around toward the east and see your children gathered from sunset to sunrise by the word of the Holy One, rejoicing in God’s remembrance.

For they went out from you on foot, led away by enemies, but God brings them in to you, borne with glory as on a royal throne.

For God has commanded every high mountain and the everlasting hills to be brought low, and the ravines to be filled up to level the ground, so that Israel may walk safely in the glory of God.

The forests and every fragrant tree have also provided shade for Israel by the command of God.

For God will lead Israel with gladness in the light of his glory, with the mercy and righteousness that come from him.
